New eateries set to join £2.3bn Elephant Park regeneration scheme
A range of new eateries are set to join multi-billion pound regeneration project Elephant Park.
Fitzrovia restaurant Bobo Social and Italian street food specialist Sugo are set to join the growing £2.3bn development in South London.
Bobo Social, which specialises in dishes made from sustainable seasonal ingredients, will relaunch its 1,740 sq ft restaurant on Sayer Street later this month.
Michael Benson, founder of Bobo Social, explained: “Elephant Park is an exciting new destination, and the clear drive to mix locally-based and internationally-recognised brands perfectly suits our offer.
“We are very excited to be opening our doors here, and look forward to seeing our seasonal and sustainable menu, along with our expertly designed cocktails, launch amongst this emerging Elephant and Castle community.”
Italian street food specialist Sugo is set to open its 360 sq ft space on Sayer Street later in the year.
Matteo Grasso, founder of Sugo, added: “Here at Sugo we are dedicated to tearing down traditional Italian cuisine stereotypes and showing London what the streets of Italy have to offer.
“Our food trucks have become very popular across the capital and we are delighted to open our very first bricks and mortar site within this exciting regeneration project, and alongside many other established and emerging brands.
“Finding a location that reflects our innovative approach whilst maintaining a sense of community was key, and we look forward to our fast-casual restaurant being a delicious, unique and bustling experience for all.”
The newly announced eateries follow on the heels of Caribbean restaurant Tasty Jerk and Pan Asian cuisine specialist Pot & Rice, both of which have recently opened new spaces at the Lendlease-led development.
Guy Thomas, head of retail at Lendlease, commented: “The recent openings and announcements for Bobo Social, Sugo, Tasty Jerk and Pot & Rice add to the offer for the local community and highlight our commitment to building a sustainable and balanced offer of independent operators within Elephant Park.
“Our leasing plan has been designed to help emerging brands benefit from the affordable and accessible retail opportunities available.”
