Crown Workspace’s new Head of Interiors will focus on growth and sustainability
Crown Workspace’s new Head of Interiors, Ashley Lawrence, is looking to take the business to the next stage by pressing home its sustainability message.
With ten years of experience in the construction sector, starting as a carpenter and building his way up to board level, his achievements include helping his previous company grow from a turnover of £1.5m to more than £7m.
Now he aims to help Crown Workspace, an expert in workplace sustainability, office refurbishment and workplace relocations, in the same way.
He said “I’m ready for the challenge. We want to expand our services further, both in location and specialist services, increase training for all staff and drive individual development.
“I’d also like to promote a zero to landfill policy for all teams to ensure we are doing everything we can for the environment.”
Ashley’s previous role was Director of Operations at WG Silverton & Co, a building, shopfitting, electrical and maintenance contractor based in Baldock, Hertfordshire, where he gained a wealth of experience.
However, he says it was his new employer’s green credentials which encouraged him to leave after 12 years.
Crown Workspace is renowned for its focus on sustainability and its innovative Renew Centre, where office furniture is remanufactured, refurbished and repaired.
Phil Oram, Regional Director at Crown Workspace, believes the new appointment is a vital one for the business.
He said: “Ashley has strong experience in the sector, and we’re delighted he has agreed to oversee our interiors department.
“He has proved himself to be an expert in growing a business which will be one of his key focuses at Crown Workspace, as well as expanding our interiors capability through development of our interiors solutions and offerings for existing and new clients.
“Many of our clients are currently setting or responding to net zero carbon targets and we see this as a focus for expanding our existing service offering. Ashley will be instrumental in supporting clients achieve their goals through our refurbished offering whilst creating environments that fit their culture.”
There’s another string to Ashley’s bow, too. For future clients who think they recognise him even before they meet, there could be a reason.
“I have a quite few interests outside of work,” Ashley said “I’ve run 11 marathons, and been an extra in films and television programmes.
“I’m not sure how much time I’m going to have to do that now, though. The role at Crown Workspace is a really exciting one and I want to immerse myself in it.”
It could prove to be the best part he has ever played…
