North East agency launches new tool to help businesses "out-behave" their competition

Behavioural consultancy Duo Global Consulting has developed a unique tool to help businesses optimise both their recruitment strategy and understand their existing team better to unlock higher levels of performance.

When looking at pre-employment testing, personality profiling has traditionally been chosen over forms of behavioural assessment. However, this newly developed tool has instead been built to measure the dominant behaviours of individuals, teams and businesses as a whole.

Laura Weaving, managing director at Duo Global Consulting said: “It is much easier to change how we do things, than to change who we are.

“The root cause of most problems in business are related to people and their behaviours, so by identifying dominant behaviours, using our signature mapping tool, businesses can elevate and ‘out-behave’ their competition.”

By asking a series of questions, this behavioural tool can identify a number of behaviours for each person such as:

  • Are they process driven, or do they like flexibility and options?
  • Are they driven by achievement, opportunity to take charge or affiliation with the people around them?
  • Do they look for the big picture or are they detail focussed?
  • Are they solution focussed or more of a problem solver?

Once these dominant behavioural patterns have been established, businesses can use the insight to drive higher levels of performance, and ensure that both current and future team members are the right fit for their role, and the business.

Laura added: “At Duo, we believe in firstly finding and appointing someone with behaviours that fit a particular role, that will enable them to perform to their areas of strength, then coupling this with skills, knowledge and experience.

“If you recruit people with the wrong behavioural traits for your business, this could go a long way to explaining culture or performance issues.”

Behaviour impacts all aspects of our performance, including how we react to certain situations or handle feedback, and businesses need different behaviours to be successful in different roles.

Being able to understand and identify certain behavioural traits and pair them with the right job roles increases performance, and ultimately satisfaction, for both the employee and employer, with significant impact on profit being already proven.

This is a strategic move by Duo to not only provide their clients with a tool that will vastly improve their business, but to also support Duo in productising a key element of their consultancy service within a technology product.

Sarah Callender, commercial director at Duo said: “This product launch is an integral part of our growth strategy with targets contributing to ambitious growth plans and it is already on track to net us an additional 10 per cent in revenue even in this first year of launch.”
