Greggs vegan range is recipe for success with ‘exceptional’ 2019 performance
Baked goods retailer Greggs has reported a ‘record-breaking’ performance for 2019 as a result of its ‘transformational’ strategy changes.
The firm reported a pre-tax profit of £108m for 2019,an increase of 31 per cent from the previous year.
Rolling out a number of product innovations throughout the year - such as the introduction of vegan products and partnering with delivery firm JustEat - has seen the company boost its overall sales by 13.5 per cent.
Roger Whiteside OBE, Greggs chief executive, commented: “2019 was an exceptional year of progress for Greggs, during which we experienced a sustained increase in customer visits as increased awareness and appreciation of our brand gathered momentum.
“Our exceptional performance was founded on the changes that we have made across our multi-year strategic investment programme, which has delivered transformational change across the business and has now set us up for the next phase of growth.”
