Canon Keith D Madeley MBE, The Scott Creative Arts Foundation (SCAF)

The Scott Creative Arts Foundation (SCAF) has appointed Canon Keith D Madeley MBE as its chairman.

Formerly chairman of Yorkshire Business in the Arts, Keith is a local entrepreneur and businessman and is known as ‘Mr Yorkshire’ among the region’s business community.

Commenting on his appointment, Keith said, “I am very pleased to have this opportunity to help this innovative charity which offers opportunities to emerging artists of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds in their creative development.

“I am looking forward to the challenge of assisting SCAF to develop its reach throughout the county and to seeing innovative new works of art acknowledged.”

Sarah Murfin, Eleanor Slater and Will Barnett, Gallagher

Insurance broker Gallagher has made three new appointments at its office in Leeds.

Sarah Murfin has taken on the role of key account manager, Eleanor Slater has joined the team as senior account executive and Will Barnett comes onboard as account executive.

Sarah brings over 17 years’ experience to her new role, having held positions at a number of global insurance brokers.

Eleanor previously worked for major global insurers including Allianz and Liberty Mutual in both property and casualty underwriting.

Will Barnett has also joined from Allianz, where he began his career as an underwriter in multiple classes of insurance.

James Murray, Leeds branch director of Gallagher’s UK retail division, commented: “Gallagher in Leeds is going from strength to strength - providing tailored risk management and insurance broking services to a diverse range of major clients throughout Yorkshire and beyond.

Danielle Sheard and Jack Parker, Fired Up Technologies

Audio-visual technology company Fired Up Technologies has appointed Danielle Sheard as business development manager and Jack Parker as software development engineer.

Danielle has experience in business to business sales, previously working for West Yorkshire based financial services technology provider Yorkshire Payments.

Danielle commented: “Fired Up Technologies is such an exciting and innovative business and I’m thrilled to be a part of their ongoing journey; I’m hoping to be able to bring my business to business sales acumen to the organisation and really drive forward their growth across various sectors and industries”

Jack Parker joins the team having graduated with a Bsc Degree in Physics from the University of Sheffield in July 2019.

Neil Williams, Garbutt + Elliott

Accountancy and audit firm Garbutt + Elliott has appointed Neil Williams as strategic growth consultant.

Neil Williams brings with him over 35 years’ experience working in the banking sector, most recently as regional director of Santander Corporate & Commercial Bank across Yorkshire for the last 11 years.

He will be focused on helping the firm to maximise further growth potential across various aspects of their business, using his strategic, client and corporate banking experience.

Neil commented: “I am really excited to be working with Garbutt + Elliott at this stage of their growth. They are a sizeable regional player and have already doubled in size over the last few years.

“I have been genuinely impressed by the ambition of the firm, the high quality of its people and the wide range of services which they can provide.

Paul Halliday, LHL Group

Property and construction consultancy LHL Group has appointed Paul Halliday as project manager.

With more than 30 years’ construction industry experience, Paul joins LHL Group after 15 years with a large Leeds firm.

After starting out as an apprentice plumber and heating engineer, he gained a BSc (Hons) Building Surveying Classification in 1998 and became a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

His main knowledge is in projects and contract administration and legislative compliance works, including building surveys, Equality Act surveys and fire integrity work for commercial and public sector clients in Yorkshire and across property portfolios nationwide.

Aundre Hamilton-Martin, Adair Paxton

Property company Adair Paxton has appointed chartered surveyor Aundre Hamilton-Martin.

Aundre originally joined Adair Paxton in 2019 temporarily to cover a colleague’s maternity leave, but due to a significant increase in business, the firm created an additional position within its residential property block management arm.

Aundre previously worked at Manning Stainton for five years within the lettings and maintenance division.

Director of residential block management, William Marshall, commented: “Aundre’s appointment has seen us grow our team of property managers from four to five, and between us we have over 50 years’ industry experience.”

Aundre added “Adair Paxton’s unrivalled reputation in this area is what made me want to work for them.

“William has been in the industry for over 20 years and is a great role model, and I am really enjoying working for a business that is so dedicated to getting things right.”

Helen Anderson, Ellis

Cable cleat manufacturer Ellis has appointed Helen Anderson as export sales executive.

Helen, who has a strong background in languages, joins Ellis from a Yorkshire power generator business, and had previously held sales and marketing roles for fashion houses in France.

Helen commented: “Ellis’ reputation as a British manufacturer with a truly global stature goes far beyond the confines of the markets it operates in. In my experience, they are very much seen as the poster boys of British SME manufacturers making an impact on a world stage.

“Their products are world-renowned; their standing as industry innovators unrivalled; and their reputation completely deserved.
