Facing COVID-19: the property developer helping communities access essential supplies
A London property specialist has repurposed one of its warehouse complexes into an emergency storage site for essential supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Galliard Homes has donated a 61,000 sq ft space at its 2.5 acre site in Essex to be transformed into a community storage facility.
The firm has partnered with Essex County Council to deliver the site, which will be converted into a space used to store essential supplies for the local community.
Don O’Sullivan, chief executive of Galliard Homes, commented: “We are dedicated to assisting the UK government and our local communities in the fight against COVID-19.
“The donation of our 2.5-acre warehouse site in Essex for storing essential supplies should benefit the local Essex community and beyond, and we have already had trucks arriving with supplies. These are uncertain times, and it is a duty for everyone to help where they can.”
Chris Duffy, acquisitions and commercial director at Galliard Homes, added: “The decision to transform one of our warehouse complexes into an emergency depot for key supplies will support our Government and NHS heroes in the fight against COVID-19.
“We were pleased to see the arrival of the first supplies, and for this facility to provide much-needed assistance.”
