Yorkshire residential scheme set to deliver affordable housing for key workers

A village near York is set to become the site for 28 new homes after plans for a new residential development were submitted.

Easingwold-based developers Caedmon Homes, in partnership with the Evans Property Group, have submitted proposals for the development in the village of Brafferton.

The proposals include a total of 28 new properties, comprising 14 affordable homes earmarked specifically for key workers.

In addition to the affordable 14 one and two-bed apartments and three-bed houses, the scheme will also deliver 14 four and five-bed properties that will be made available on the open market.

The plans mark the newest project for developer Caedmon Homes, which has launched three developments across the Yorkshire region over the past 12 months, worth a combined total of £25m.

Paul Brown, director of Caedmon Homes, commented: “This is a very exciting development, which will add to the excellent reputation of Brafferton as one of the most sought-after villages in the York and Easingwold areas.

“The site already has outline planning consent, so this reserved matters application is to agree building designs and layout with Hambleton Council.

“If all goes well, and COVID-19 permitting, we are looking to start on site this summer, with the first homes available next spring and the development completed in late summer.”
