Leeds language tech specialist lands contract with US retail giant
A Yorkshire-based language tech firm has secured a new contract with one of the largest retailers in the world.
Language technology provider thebigword has made a deal with US-based retailer Walmart Inc to provide services for its global leasing division.
Headquartered in Leeds, thebigword has 14 offices around the world and employs over 500 staff.
Powered by AI, thebigword’s Machine Translation tool aims to provide instant secure language translation.
As part of the deal, thebigword will be specifically supporting Walmart’s Global Lease Center of Expertise (GLCE), which manages the companies’ leases and compliance with local laws.
Mark Daley, thebigword’s chief operating officer, commented: “We are proud of the work we do to break down language barriers around the globe and I am delighted that thebigword will be providing our high-quality translation services to such a retail giant as Walmart.”
