Medtech secures six-figure government funding to accelerate COVID-19 research
A London-based therapeutics and health tech firm has secured six-figure government funding to accelerate its clinical research.
Closed Loop Medicine has secured £250k from Innovate UK’s COVID-19 Continuity Funding to support its ongoing clinical research programme.
The firm, which was awarded the Innovate UK Precision Medicine Accelerator in 2019 to develop a precision drug and digital therapy package for patients with high blood pressure, will use the funding to accelerate its research into the connection between hypertension and COVID-19.
Dr Hakim Yadi OBE, CEO & co-founder of Closed Loop Medicine, commented: “We are very grateful to Innovate UK and UK Government in recognizing the impact COVID-19 has had on important projects like this.
“We’re looking forward to working with Innovate UK and our collaborators at QMUL on this critical study. We hope to be able to add new research to the analysis on the link between COVID-19 and high blood pressure.”
