Gateshead mortgage firm expands workforce by over a third amid growth drive
A mortgage company based in the North East has increased its workforce by 39 per cent during a period of unexpected growth.
First Mortgage (NE) has grown its team from 33 to 46 since March, despite the disruption caused by COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown.
The Gateshead-based firm, which has doubled its workforce in just over 18 months, is continuing its growth drive with vacancies for a range of roles advertised as well as plans for new office locations in the pipeline.
Phil McGuire, new build director at First Mortgage, commented: “Once we got through the initial uncertainties of lockdown, demand started to increase.
“As a result, we have had a big focus on recruitment and finding the right people to support our continued growth.”
Ben Riley, First Mortgage sales director, added: “We are immensely proud of our achievements during this period.
“It has been extremely challenging with a huge amount of hard work put in by our fantastic team, who all share our passion for finding our clients the best mortgage deal available to them.
“Whilst we know we will continue to face tough challenges in the future, we have built an incredible team to deal with these and we are really excited by what lies ahead for us.”
