Love Island star opens new £250,000 store in London

A star from hit reality TV show Love Island has opened a £250,000 flooring store in the East London town of Romford.

Olivia Bowen, who subsequently married her Love Island partner Alex after coming second in the show in 2016, was the guest of honour at the opening of Flooring Superstore in Romford.

The 4,000 square foot store, which is situated at Gallows Corner on the Southend Arterial Road, has created four new jobs for local people and at a quarter of a million pounds, represents the largest investment in a store by one of the UK’s fastest-growing retailers.

This is the sixth store opened by Flooring Superstore in the UK in 2020 and the third in London in the last three months. Nationally, the retailer now has a presence in 23 towns and cities across England, Scotland, and Wales. It only began opening physical stores in 2017.

Flooring Superstore Regional Manager Ian Robinson said: “We are delighted to have been able to open in Romford and to have Olivia as our guest of honour. “Olivia grew up in nearby Chelmsford and still lives in Essex, so we couldn’t have chosen anyone better to open the store.”

Shoppers visiting the Romford store will have access to an unrivalled range of carpets but also a huge choice of other flooring, such as vinyl, laminate, real wood, luxury vinyl tiles, EvoCore and the UK’s largest selection of artificial grass.

Ian added: “This is our biggest ever investment in a single store and is further proof of our intention to be a major player in the UK flooring retail sector. “We’re always pleased to continue new store openings, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, bringing investment and jobs to local areas like Romford.

“We started life as an online brand but now having a presence in many major towns and cities across the UK, we’re growing at a rapid rate whilst still being able to offer our customers online prices in our stores.”

Olivia, 26, achieved fame in the second series of Love Island. She married Alex in 2018 and both have carved out hugely successful careers.

Olivia, who has over 2.5 million followers on Instagram, has presented This Morning as well as being the resident Love Island reporter. She has another Instagram page, called The Bowen Home, with Alex which centres on their Essex home and has over 600,000 followers.
