Precision Proco Group brings in finest print company in London

LEADING print organisation, Precision Proco Group, is continuing with its plans for growth by bringing one of London’s most established and prestigious companies into its portfolio.

WKG Print, formally Witherbys, based at Fountayne Road, London was set up in 1740 and has become synonymous with delivering fine art print of the highest quality to the capital’s world renowned, iconic and influential brands.

And now the company is about to enter a new chapter in its 280 year history, having joined the Precision Proco Group, which was formed earlier this year following a merger between Sunderland and London operation Precision Printing, Sheffield-based ProCo and Nottingham’s Prime Group.

Along with the transfer of eight key members of the team, Precision Proco Group has bought the key assets of the £3m business which works with many of London’s financial companies, museums, galleries and auction houses.

WKG Print will continue to trade under the same name but will benefit from being part of a much larger organisation, providing their clients with access to the state-of-the-art technology and innovation which Precision Proco Group offers.

James Greene, MD of WKG Print, believes it is the perfect move.

“Our vision has always been to combine experience and tradition with the latest technology to provide our clients with not only the highest quality print, but also to enable them to access new markets and a changing customer base,” he said.

“Precision Proco Group is led by a highly experienced and passionate team of individuals who have brought together award-winning businesses at the forefront of print technology and innovation. I am excited to share all the new possibilities with our clients,”

Jon Bailey, COO of Precision Proco Group, added that although it may appear bringing in such a traditional business seems like an unlikely first move for the print group that claims to be the first choice for consumer brands, WKG Print is actually a perfect fit for the organisation.

“Bringing in an established, influential and prestigious company within the high-end print market is exciting, “he said.

“ It is very important for iconic brands to understand they do not have to lose their heritage to compete in today’s market.

“It is possible to look at how they can do things differently, how they can innovate and drive engagement to a changing customer without losing what made them so special in the first place.

“WKG works with some of the most prestigious and exclusive brands in the UK and we are excited to see how our technology and capabilities can unlock opportunities” Precision Proco Group also includes online digital print portal, Where The Trade Buys, Prime and digital solutions provider, Climb.
