Made in Chelsea star opens new London store
TV reality star Melissa Tattam swapped Chelsea for Croydon when she opened a new flooring store on behalf of one of the UK’s fastest-growing retailers.
The Made in Chelsea celebrity was the guest of honour at the opening of Flooring Superstore’s store in South London.
She delighted shoppers by performing the opening of the 4,355 square foot store at The IO Centre in Croydon.
Flooring Superstore has invested £150,000 and created four new jobs for local people with the opening of the store. The retailer only started opening physical stores in 2017 and now has a presence in Edinburgh, Birmingham, Swindon, Newport, York, Coventry, Thurrock, Bracknell, Birtley, Havant, Keighley, Milton Keynes, Bristol, Newton Abbot and Stockport, Crewe, Stockton, Wolverhampton, Brent Cross, Croydon, Swansea, Newcastle and Romford.
Flooring Superstore Regional Manager Ian Robinson said: “The opening of the Croydon store went very well, and we were delighted that Melissa accepted our invitation to cut the ribbon to mark the occasion.
“Having a presence in London, with more stores planned in the future, forms an important part of our growth strategy and we are looking forward to making our own contribution to the local retail economy in Croydon.”
Shoppers visiting Flooring Superstore will have access to an unrivalled range of carpets but also a huge choice of other flooring, such as vinyl, laminate, real wood, luxury vinyl tiles, EvoCore and the UK’s largest selection of artificial grass.
Ian added: “We offer a one-stop-shop to meet peoples’ flooring needs, whether it’s carpet for the living room, wood in the bedroom, vinyl in the bathroom or even grass for the garden.
“This is one of the key things which sets us apart from our competitors and which has contributed to our rapid growth over the last three years.
“Before 2017 we only had an online presence and now, we have stores stretching from Scotland down to the south coast of England, with plans to open more in the coming months and into 2021.”
Melissa Tattam first appeared on Made in Chelsea in March 2018. She has become a popular member of the show with her on-screen and real-life boyfriend Harry Bolton and an influencer on Instagram with over 116,000 followers.
