Carol Lindsay and Stuart Millar, Greaves West & Ayre

A North East accountancy firm has announced the appointment of two new partners.

Greaves West & Ayre has promoted associates Carol Lindsay and Stuart Millar to the position of partners.

Carol began her career with GWA in 2011 in the farm accounts and corporate services departments, and qualified as a chartered accountant in 2014.

More recently, Carol’s focus has been on the firm’s taxation department, playing a pivotal role in developing the service including HMRC’s introduction of Making Tax Digital, whilst also managing her own portfolio of clients.

Carol commented: “It is a pleasure to be part of the GWA team and to contribute to our continued growth and success.

“A lot of our clients have been with us for many years, some for generations, and I am looking forward to building and extending those relationships and continuing our reputation of delivering quality advice.”

Stuart was previously working for N C Campbell and Co in Haddington and moved to the Berwick office following the merger of the two businesses in 2016.

He is now developing his knowledge by studying to become an FCA accredited independent financial advisor.

Richard Wilson, Lambert Smith Hampton

A national property consultancy has announced the appointment of a new interim head of office in Newcastle.

Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has named Richard Wilson as interim head of office in the area.

Richard, a director in LSH’s valuation team, has been with the business for many years.

Adam Ramshaw, head of transactional business at LSH, commented:“. I look forward to working with Richard in continuing to enhance and drive our operations across the North East, building on the extremely solid foundations Martyn [previous HOO] has laid.“

Richard added: “I am extremely grateful for the trust placed in me by the senior leadership team at LSH and am excited for what the future has in store.”

Karen Eve, Mario Jaconelli, Brian Logan, Alex Kirtley, Chris Poulton and Judith Quinn, Sunderland BID

Sunderland BID has announced the appointment of several new board members from organisations across the city.

Among the new members are Karen Eve, centre director at the Bridges, Mario Jaconelli of commercial property surveyors, Lofthouse and Partners, along with Brian Logan of Azets Accountants.

Also joining are Alex Kirtley of H& J Kirtley Property QC Space, which is developing Mackie’s Corner, Chris Poulton of estate agents, Martin and Co and Judith Quinn of Sunderland College.

Zarah Rowntree, Niamh Farrell and Stephanie Rutherford, Sweeney Miller

Three paralegals from North East law firm Sweeney Miller have started training contracts with the firm.

Zarah Rowntree, Niamh Farrell and Stephanie Rutherford are the latest employees to be offered a trainee role at the company,

Zarah joined the team in 2018 as a a conveyancing Assistant following her graduation from University of Sunderland with a first-class law degree in 2017.

Stephanie joined the firm in the same year, having undertaken her L.L.B (Hons) and L.L.M Legal Practice Course at the University of Sunderland.

Niamh also joined the Sunderland office in 2018, having undertaken her L.L.B (Hons) and L.L.M Legal Practice Course at the University of Sunderland.

Surbhi Vedhara, partner at Sweeney Miller, commented, “Zarah, Niamh and Stephanie have been awarded training contracts in light of their fantastic work and tremendous potential.

“Niamh and Steph will be starting their first seat in residential conveyancing and Zarah Rowntree will be focusing on specialist buy-to-let conveyancing for investors and will be based in the Newcastle office.

Andrew Dipper, Evolved Search

A Newcastle search marketing agency has announced the appointment of a new member of its senior team.

Evolved Search, has added Andrew Dipper to its senior team as head of digital PR.

The newly-created head of digital PR role will add further strategic focus to the digital PR offering.

Andrew joins Evolved Search with more than 10 years’ of experience gained in agencies, in-house and as a freelancer, with four-and-a-half years in his previous role of head of global digital marketing at Tenth Revolution Group, overseeing the 11 brands within the group.

He commented: “After meeting the directors of the business I was blown away by the growth plans they have in place for the agency.
