Altia-ABM celebrates launch of the North West Fraud Forum
Leading global provider of intelligence and investigation software, Altia-ABM, is delighted to announce its partnership with the North West Fraud Forum (NWFF), which launched on 26th January 2021.
As one of the Group’s initial founding partners, Altia-ABM brings a wealth of expertise and industry knowledge to underpin the aims and objectives of the Forum, ensuring a keen and accurate eye is kept on tackling and reducing fraud across the North West.
The only forum of its kind in the region, the NWFF is a collaboration between the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU), the City of London Police and the London Fraud Forum (LFF). The NWFF aims to provide a blueprint for a collective response to fraud and corruption perpetrated against organisations across the North West, by bringing together professionals from across the public and private sector. The NWFF board and partners is made up of representatives from local industry and specialist leads on economic, financial and health crime, as well as data and intelligence, legal and financial experts.
Fraud continues to pose a significant challenge to authorities across the globe, affecting everyone from individuals to organisations large and small; the NWFF provides a welcome platform for members to not only raise awareness of the latest fraud types and trends, but critically to foster collaborative knowledge sharing and best practice to assist organisations to review and further improve their counter fraud work.
Rob Sinclair, Chief Executive Officer at Altia-ABM, said: “The UK leads the world in providing software to assist in the investigation and prosecution of fraud and the opportunity to develop a close working relationship with the NWFF is a great fit for us. “We are thrilled to be one of the founding partners of this inaugural group for the North West, and playing a meaningful part in the growing knowledge base and capabilities of organisations as part of a valuable forum for the region’s counter fraud professionals. We look forward to offering our active support and expertise to NWFF members.”
Altia-ABM’s renowned portfolio of products supports users in their investigation of financial crime. By extending the reach of the team’s proficiency to further support Fraud Forums across the country, enables their members to better understand the latest fraud types and trends to protect the UK’s businesses and organisations.
The NWFF plans networking events for its members to learn and share experiences via a packed agenda of webinars and breakfast seminars, plus an annual conference in September. Members will also benefit from a toolkit of assets and supportive updates from peers and industry professionals via a dedicated members-only website portal as well as regular fraud updates, alerts and news from across the network of partners.
NWFF Chair Sgt Shifa Chowdhury Jones of the North West ROCU, said: “Key partners such as Altia-ABM bring a wealth of valuable knowledge and expertise, facilitating agile and up-to-date information sharing with our members.
“The NWFF offers a valuable forum for counter fraud professionals to effectively fight and reduce fraud in the region, which according to the latest data affects over 600 victims in the North West every week.”
Sgt Chowdhury Jones added: “We urge anyone involved in protecting businesses or organisations to become a member of the NWFF and influence our growing framework for a strengthened regional and national collaboration on counter fraud for 2021 and beyond.”
