Yorkshire recycling company creates more than 30 jobs in wake of "rapid growth"
A Yorkshire recycling firm has announced that it has created more than 30 jobs to support its “rapid growth”.
Bright Green Plastics, based in Castleford, said that the need for more staff had come off the back of several “significant” contract wins.
The business, which reprocesses more than 40,000 tonnes of plastic waste every year, has added 37 new members to its 130-strong team.
The new employees include two new engineers, 26 site operatives and four forklift operators, as well as new members of the senior management and research teams.
Steve Spencer, managing director, commented: “We’ve had a fantastic start to the year, and are delighted to welcome so many new faces across every department of our business.
“From those with high-calibre industry experience to fresh, emerging talent, we couldn’t be happier with our army of new recruits.
“The introduction of the upcoming Plastic Tax, in just over a year, is set to change the face of the industry, and it’s crucial investments are made to nurture the next generation of plastic reprocessors. We’ve got a very important job ahead of us.”
