Construction partner named for ‘flexible stay’ London hotel development

A Farringdon-based construction specialist has been named as the main contractor on a new hospitality development in central London.

RED Construction has been officially appointed by The Portfolio Club (TPC), a joint venture between pension delivery organisation APG and real estate investment advisory London Central Portfolio (LCP), to deliver the comprehensive transformation of a period building in South Kensington into a premium flexible stay hotel development.

The firm will be working with TPC on a complete reconfiguration and refurbishment of the 130,000 sq ft space at 5-25 Harrington Gardens, formally known as the Harrington Hall Hotel.

Due for completion in spring 2022, the flexible stay residents’ club will feature a range of club flats across nine floors, as well as a destination bar and bistro café open to the public. There will also be two private bars: one within a garden courtyard under a newly created atrium, the other being a whisky bar located in the vaults with a club-like atmosphere.

In addition, private members will have access to exclusive amenities such as a fully equipped leisure space with a vitality pool, spa, gym, steam room, sauna, yoga area and treatment rooms.
