Housebuilder unveils plans to create more than 700 North East homes this year

A UK housebuilder has revealed plans to build more than 700 new homes across the North East this year.

Miller Homes, based in Edinburgh, is planning to create more than 400 homes in the north of the region, and nearly 300 across developments in Tees Valley.

This will include the launch of six new developments in Pelton, Peterlee, Blyth, Hartlepool, Darlington and Ingleby Barwick.

The builder said that these developments will boost it to almost double the number of homes completed in the region last year.

Mark Bayliss, regional operations director at Miller Homes Teesside, said: “We have ambitious growth plans and the demand from North East buyers is there, especially in areas that will see further economic growth like Tees Valley, thanks to announcements in the latest Budget like the Freeport bringing new jobs and opportunity.”
