London tour operator set for anticipated travel boom with multi-million pound funding
A global escorted tour operator has secured multi-million pound funding to enhance its offering ahead of the easing of travel restrictions.
On the Go Tours, which is headquartered in London, has secured a £4.25m refinancing package from SME funding specialist ThinCats.
Established in 1999, On the Go Tours is a provider of global tours and tailor-made holidays, specialising in English-speaking experience and adventure tours to over 60 destinations.
Known for the Signature group tours to ‘iconic’ destinations around the world, On the Go Tours also offers a range of hand-picked experience holidays, tailor-made trips, family getaways and the Overland range of adventure tours.
The company plans to use the funding to enhance its travel offering and streamline its digital capabilities ahead of international travel resuming following the pandemic.
Carl Cross, CEO of On the Go Tours, commented: “As with all travel businesses, this past year has been challenging. However, we have taken the opportunity to develop our online capability and further enhance our offering.
“We are very much looking forward to getting back to what we are best at - taking our customers on authentic and accessible cultural experiences, and this funding puts us in a great position to do that.”
Dave Sherrington, regional head of sales - London for ThinCats, added: “The passion and expertise across the whole team at On The Go Tours was obvious from the start.
“Despite the indisputable difficulties with global travel over the past year, they have shown incredible resilience. We are very excited to see the company fly again once restrictions are lifted.”
