New seafront hotel opens its doors at North East coastal destination
A new seafront hotel has been launched at a growing North East coastal destination.
The Inn Collection Group has announced the launch of its debut Wearside site, The Seaburn Inn, in Sunderland.
The purpose-built 40-bedroom pub with rooms overlooks the Blue Flag beaches of Seaburn and Roker.
Built by Metnor Construction, the four-storey site features sea view rooms complete with balconies overlooking Roker Pier and Whitburn, an outdoor terrace, dining areas and a children’s play area.
The Inn Collection Group operations manager Dan Evans commented: “We are delighted to have opened The Seaburn Inn on the seafront in what is rightly known as the jewel in Sunderland’s crown.
“It is a superb addition to our portfolio as we continue to expand our presence with sites in exceptional locations across the north of England.
“The Seaburn Inn will be a major asset to Sunderland, boosting the area’s economic and tourism capacity at a time when it is needed the most. We’re excited to be part of the infrastructure in this dynamic part of the north east coastline, operating as a good, old-fashioned inn with our proven eat, drink, sleep and explore brand and service.”
Cllr Graeme Miller, leader of Sunderland City Council, said: “It’s wonderful to hear how Lyn has watched as The Seaburn Inn has risen from the ground, as one exciting part of our transforming coastal landscape.
“With every new development – driven forward by a council that is focused on establishing Sunderland as a dynamic place to live, work and play - we are creating a more vibrant seaside, with exciting places for residents and visitors to enjoy – all while creating opportunities for businesses to succeed.
“The Seaburn Inn is a tremendous asset and a vote of confidence from an award-winning operator in Sunderland’s seaside. I am sure Seaburn will prove to be a great addition to The Inn Collection Group’s impressive portfolio of inns.”
