York holiday park set for summer staycation boom with new residential lodges

A holiday park in North Yorkshire has launched a new development of residential lodges.

Chestnut Farm Holiday Park, on the outskirts of York, has launched a collection of new lodges in order to capitalise on the post-pandemic ‘staycation boom’.

Located in the tranquil rural village of Acaster Malbis, three miles from York city centre, Chestnut Farm has been a holiday park for decades run by the Smith and Dearlove family.

Marcus Smith, from Chestnut Farm Holiday Park, commented: “Chestnut Farm first recorded a caravan on the land in 1899, making us one of, if not, the oldest caravan park in Britain.

“Therefore the park comes with a huge legacy and is a place where so many people have cherished memories from holidays and visits over the years.

“We knew it was time to move the park forward, however, what was vital to us was to create a lodge experience that is like nothing else on the market. So our customers feel they have something really special, completely bespoke and experience the highest standard of living here at Chestnut Farm.”

The lodges have been designed and built by Acaster Homes, the Smith family’s lodge manufacturing business. The team designed and built each style of lodge with the main part of lodge build taking place in its factory based on the outskirts of York. The lodges are then transported to the park where the finishing touches are completed.

Steven Smith, director of Acaster Homes, added: “This is our second residential lodge development and we’re looking forward to launching this new style onto the market.

“The entire design and build process happens in York which has allowed us to work with our trusted local suppliers to create a high quality product to suit Chestnut Farm’s new chapter.”
