Leonard Curtis Glasgow announces strategic business development appointment
Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group (LCBSG) has strengthened its Scottish operation with a new appointment.
Jennifer McGuffie has joined the leading professional services firm in Glasgow as a Business Development Manager (BDM) to provide support for accountants, other advisors and their SME clients with specialist turnaround, restructuring, finance, HMRC Time to Pay and legal services.
The appointment comes at no better time as Scottish accountants look to advise clients on navigating their way out of the pandemic with deadlines fast approaching for repayments of delayed VAT returns and Government loans.
The lifting of restrictions on creditor forbearance and the ending of the furlough scheme is also expected to have an impact. In April this year, 38,000 Scottish businesses were deemed to be at risk from insolvency.
Jennifer has a background of 15 years in asset-based lending and brings an established reputation and network of contacts to the role. She will be supporting colleagues working in Reach Commercial Finance - the funding brokerage arm of the Group - as well as engaging with and building the Group’s Lifecycle community of Scottish accountants.
Lifecycle is a unique, free to join professional network which allows accountants to offer their clients specialist services when required at every stage of a business’s life.
Jennifer comments: “Leonard Curtis has a brilliant reputation in the market - providing empathy and skill to challenging situations - and is the perfect fit for my own experience and ambitions. I am looking forward to bringing a fresh perspective and new contacts to the role and broadening my knowledge around insolvency business solutions - the firm is the ‘go to’ brand in this space.”
Leonard Curtis Group Director, Daniel Booth, says: “Jennifer is a fantastic addition to our team. In the last four years we have built a great presence in Glasgow and across Scotland and it’s testament to our progress that we have attracted someone of her stature and expertise.
Glasgow Director Barry Stewart added: “It supports the next phase of growth for us as we look to build more relationships with accountants, professional advisors and the SME community in Glasgow and beyond - at a challenging time for business.”
In a separate development, Leonard Curtis Glasgow has also promoted Daniela Coia and Derek Ross to Managers. Both work on a portfolio of corporate case work including administrations, debt management and advisory.
