Gunpowder owners bring bang to London’s West End with new Indian eatery
The entrepreneurial duo behind a Spitalfields-based Indian restaurant is set to bring its flavours to London’s West End.
Husband and wife team Harneet Baweja and Devina Seth have announced plans to launch a new eatery in Soho next month.
Located in the middle of Greek Street, the new 54-cover restaurant will offer a range of Indian dishes inspired by the couple’s family recipes.
The decor has drawn on the history and grandeur of the clubs the couple used to frequent, with dark wood cladding covering the walls, traditional black and white chequered flooring and a 1950s-inspired dark red marble bar.
Co-founder Harneet Baweja commented: “Gunpowder is built around our heritage and love of food inherited from our families.
“It feels right to bring these core values to an area of London that is so steeped in history, where cultures and traditions have developed closely over time and continue to overlap.
“Soho has sustained London’s hospitality industry since the Victorian era, and we are very much looking forward to joining the energy of the West End.”
