Novus confirms multiple NGO & charity partnerships ahead of official launch this summer

Innovative fintech app and debit card, Novus, has announced its partnership with a number of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and charities as part of its mission to generate positive social and environmental impact from everyday spending.

Carefully selected for their contributions towards positive social, environmental and/or economic change, the 10 NGOs that will be working alongside the ‘next generation’ banking and lifestyle app include book distribution charity, Book Aid International; ‘period poverty’ charity and educator, Bloody Good Period; blindness prevention and disability rights charity Sightsavers; sustainable provider of clean and safe drinking water, Charity: water, malaria protection charity, Against Malaria Foundation and the UK’s longest running food distribution charity, FareShare.

In addition to this, Novus has made the decision to join forces with a number of environmentally focused organisations including the conservation programme SEE Turtles; coral reef and coastal ecosystems restoration programme, Coralive; tree-planting initiative Eden Reforestation Project, and the international charity working to combat poverty and climate change, SolarAid.

Co-founder and CEO of Novus, Hristian Nedyalkov, explained: “Novus makes it easy for consumers to lead a more ‘conscious’ lifestyle, starting with your everyday financial activity.

“Every time you tap your Novus card, our app contributes ‘impact coins’ to various causes such as those led by our 10 new affiliates, resulting in micro-wins for both yourself and the planet. You can then track your impact and even view your carbon footprint to see just how far your conscious purchases have gone.

“With the added support of an in-app marketplace, Novus’ community of conscious consumers can discover and buy from an expanding range of ethical and sustainable brands whilst receiving rewards for their sustainable purchases in the form of cashback, discounts and a range of other benefits.

“Our commitment to making a positive social, economic and environmental impact is what lies at our core, and we are thrilled to have the support of these 10 incredible NGOs as we embark on this journey to becoming not just a payments app, but a way of life.”

These multiple collaborations are yet another key milestone for Novus after it announced its partnership with Visa (the world leader in payments) in May, and more recently confirmed its regulatory approval of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to launch Novus within the UK.

By working collectively towards a more inclusive and sustainable future, Novus’ long-term vision is to become the ‘Super App’ for the growing conscious consumer segment.

The beta version of the app is currently being offered to a limited number of individuals before becoming available to the wider public later this year.
