New £2.9m Hull nursing home to "employ as many local people as possible"
Following the opening of a £2.9m specialist nursing home in Hull the home’s health care provider plans to “employ as many local people as possible.”
Marmaduke, a one storey home, and Exemplar Health Care’s second specialist care home in Hull, will support 18 adults living with complex mental and physical health conditions.
The home has thus far provided 80 stable and local jobs according to Exemplar.
Lord Mayor Councillor Lynn Petrini said of her visit: “I am delighted to be here for the opening of Marmaduke care home. The team at Exemplar Health Care have done a fantastic job in designing the space to such a high standard, and it’s great to see so many locals working and supporting the care home.
“I’ve had the opportunity to take a tour and to see first-hand that every room is personalised and tailored to each resident, and that the care workers and nurses are committed to offering the very best care. Marmaduke represents the future of all care homes and the residents are so deserving of a home like this one.”
Speaking about the opening, Katie Capes, the commissioning home director from Exemplar Health Care’s Marmaduke, said: “We are so thrilled to have opened Exemplar Health Care’s second home in Hull and to have received a warm welcome from the Lord Mayor Councillor Lynn Petrini”.
Katie continued: “All our colleagues have a real passion for ensuring we deliver quality care for every resident, and we’re looking forward to becoming a part of the local community.
“Our goal at Exemplar Health Care is to employ as many local people as possible – and we are pleased that we have been able to recruit local nurses and carers to support our residents.”
