Hilton London Heathrow Airport wins big at the World Travel Awards

The 2021 World Travel Awards Europe have recognised Hilton London Heathrow Airport as Europe’s Leading Airport Hotel for the seventh consecutive year at the 28th edition of one of the travel industry’s most prestigious awards programme, voted by travel and tourism professionals globally.

Recognition as Europe’s Leading Airport Hotel for the 7th year running highlights the hotel’s exceptional facilities and its commitment to providing guests with Hilton Hotel’s world-renowned hospitality.

In addition to winning Europe’s Leading Airport Hotel at the World Travel Awards, Hilton London Heathrow Airport has also been nominated as the World’s Leading Airport Hotel.

The hotel has recently undergone a £3.2m refurbishment which has made the most of its large open lobby and natural light, to create a nature-inspired experience.

The new design, based around the concept of “view from above” leverages the iconic and unmistakable hotel front which allows natural light to pour in through the lobby.

Featuring an oversized chandelier and a number of living plant installations, the new and contemporary lobby design gives a cosy and welcoming feel to the hotel’s large atrium.

Designers have used a fresh and sophisticated approach with a muted colour palette and unfussy furnishings, giving the hotel’s public spaces a comfortable, urban and modern feel.

The hotel recently launched a new food and beverage concept, OXBO, which has three different outlets.

The new food and beverage concept has been created under the ethos “bound by nature”, with sustainability, respect for the land and for agricultural heritage being the driving forces behind the menus.

The hotel is one of the first Hilton hotels to roll out the OXBO concept, with guests being offered a variety of options at an OXBO Café, OXBO Bar and OXBO kitchen, each with different food and drink menus available day and night.

The hotel has also extended its options for conference and event’s organisers. In addition to its existing 15 meeting rooms – which can cater for up to 300 people – the hotel has also created the new Concorde Atrium Exhibition space, which has floor to ceiling windows and can comfortably accommodate up 170 people.

The hotel offers Hilton’s new EventReady Hybrid Solutions, which gives event planners an additional and invaluable tool to organise events for up to 20 people going forward and the ability to seamlessly connect more event participants remotely.

Having been already named the World’s Leading Airport Hotel four times by the World Travel Awards, this sizable refurbishment and the hotel’s new look has solidified its reputation as the perfect venue for travellers and event organisers alike and the travel and tourism community has unanimously confirmed this with the arrival of their sixth consecutive award as Europe’s Leading Airport Hotel.

Oliver Stockland, General Manager at the hotel, said: “The hotel is well known for its first class customer service and the new look has certainly enhanced the customer experience.

“We’ve made the most of the fantastic space we have here and created a contemporary, stylish look which has been well received by all of our guests.

“We are so excited for this new award and winning for the seventh consecutive year is a testament to our commitment to the highest level of hospitality for our clients”.
