Hospitable Greg tees up new career with launch of oven cleaning business, Ovenu Andover

Greg Clarke has teed up a perfect change of career after launching oven valeting service, Ovenu Andover.

Having spent 40 years in the hospitality industry – most recently as house manager at Basingstoke Golf Club – he’s confident that he has the skills and experience to deliver on great customer service.

He said: “I’ve spent my whole life in the hospitality industry, including pubs, hotels and social clubs, so hard work and attention to detail is nothing new.

“I’m also used to ensuring equipment is kept spotlessly clean, as well as developing a rapport with clients, so running an oven cleaning business is a natural progression!”

The pandemic and resulting lockdowns created uncertainties around his previous role and prompted him to start his own business.

A keen golfer and Southampton FC fan, he is looking forward to being able to devote more time to his hobbies and his family, which includes his wife of 41 years, three grown-up children and two grandchildren.

“Having been in hospitality has meant I’ve missed out on many important occasions over the years, but being my own boss allows me to structure my working life around my family.

“I’m looking forward to building up this business, establishing a strong customer base and a reputation for a quality service.”

Rik Hellewell, founder and managing director of the Ovenu franchise said: “Greg’s experience in the hospitality industry has instilled in him a wide range of skills that will ensure his business thrives.”

As well as the town, Ovenu Andover also covers Ludgershall, Faccombe, St Mary Bourne, Ibthorpe, Stockbridge, Middle Wallop, and surrounding areas.
