Two industrial agencies appointed to market prospective Sunderland high specification warehouse units

Two industrial agency teams have been appointed to market four prospective high specification warehouse units at Sunderland’s Turbine Business Park.

The fully consented scheme will deliver 168,000 sq ft of space on the 8.6 acre site located at the junction of the A19 and A1231 Sunderland Highway.

Construction began on November 29 with the units set for completion on September 16 2022. Units of 20,000 sq ft, 29,000 sq ft, 50,750 sq ft and 68,250 sq ft will be delivered.

HTA Real Estate and Avison Young, Newcastle have been appointed by Copley Point Capital to bring them to market.

Turbine Business Park, already home to Vantec’s 422,000 sq ft warehouse facility, is positioned adjacent to Nissan’s car factory where Nissan recently announced a £1bn investment to produce a new generation of electric cars as well as a “Gigafactory” to produce the batteries to power the vehicles.

The scheme will provide some much needed industrial and warehouse space to help address the current demand and supply imbalance. Nearby occupiers include ASDA, Amazon, Nissan UK and several Tier 1 suppliers.

Simon Hill, director at HTA said: “We are delighted to be appointed on this high-quality industrial scheme located in a prime industrial area.”

Danny Cramman, director Avison Young said: “Turbine Business park is located in an excellent location to benefit from both the growth in the logistics market and Nissan supply chain.”
