How to Motivate Yourself for Change in 2022 - How to get out of your own way and stop playing small in your life and business...

Welsh Entrepreneur charts above New York Times Bestseller Brené Brown, TV Personality John Cleese and Former SAS: Who Dares Wins Ollie Ollerton to become No.1 Bestseller with inspirational charity book created to help others rise.

This week, leading business woman, and mum of 2, whose accolades include being featured on the Forbes Coaches Council, sharing a stage with Spanx Billionaire Sara Blakely, and having sung in front of eighty thousand people at the Principality stadium, has united with 21 other female entrepreneurs in a bid to inspire others to find their voice. Together they are helping more of us identify with the things that are holding us back, and hit realisations of what we need to do to change things, if we want a life that looks different in 2022.

From Barry, South Wales, Andrea Callanan is a Voice, Mindset and Business Coach. Former professional singer and Music Industry Voice Coach, she physically lost her voice at the height of her singing success due to stress and being frozen by fear of success. Andrea is now celebrating the launch of her second inspirational best-selling book “Step Aside and Rise!” this week as she walks the walk of her mission to create a ripple effect amongst women who are made for more.

Having hit rock bottom as a suicidal mother with a young son and a mountain of debt, Andrea is passionate about health, happiness, and entrepreneurship, as the result of her own challenges. She is now also a certified Positive Psychology Coach who knows what it’s like to be in fight or flight mode - In her own words she believed “the only way was up!” …and since then has been paying it forward.

Further expanding the ripple effect of the book, proceeds of all book sales from Amazon will be donated to the WONDER Foundation (The Women’s Network for Development and Educational Resources). They are a charity focused on empowering women, girls and their communities through access to quality education so that they can transform their lives and exit poverty for good. They say : “We never set out simply to educate women and girls, but to give them the tools to be leaders in their own lives, just as we wish to be.” and this is perfectly aligned with Andrea’s own mission of empowering women to embrace choice in their lives, by finding their voice, which she says is the ultimate expression of freedom.

Andrea’s Top Tips on How to Motivate Yourself for Change in 2022 include:-

  1. Remember you’re worth it. Give yourself permission to go for it and honour your desires whatever they are. Commit to achieving what you want as if you were self parenting yourself. That is, if you were talking to one of your children, follow the advice you would give them, and be as committed to yourself as you would be to them.

  2. Get some support. Perhaps with a coach, a success community or both you are the sum of the 5 people you invest your time with daily. If you know you need to switch this up, so you have the right mindset and encouragement around you to do it.

  3. Don’t give up. Be tenacious. You can do hard things and you can go the distance.

  4. Create a visual representation of what you want in your life and put it somewhere you can see it every day. Be it a vision board, video or Pinterest board. If you can see it, you can be it. Top tip! Whatever you create needs to make you feel something when you look at it ideally, excitement and inspiration of some kind. So, make sure you include visual elements that spark high frequency emotions within you, like excitement, love, gratitude, happiness and pleasure.

  5. Get grateful, truly grateful. Gratitude is THE gamechanger. Cultivate daily gratitude where you emotionally connect to what you’ve got in your life rather than what you haven’t. Leaning into appreciation will change so much for you. It’s an incredible positive psychology discipline that yields excellent results. When you are in a state of gratitude, there’s no room for fear, and you will have removed the blocks that might keep you stuck so you can move forward. It’s scientifically proven that when we are in a state of appreciation, we are happier, more productive and likely to achieve our goals.

  6. Be on purpose. Work out why you want this change so badly. Is it for more flexibility? Time or financial freedom? Maybe you want a different lifestyle for your health? Perhaps you want to leave a legacy for your children so they can have whatever they want in their lives too…….and you’re going to show them the way. Whatever it is, get super intentional about why you’re doing what you’re doing, feel into it and allow it to propel you forward.

  7. Finally, allow yourself to feel the feelings of how you would feel, behave and operate if you had what you wanted.

How would your daily life differ from now? How would you show up? How would your experience differ from today? Would you be calmer, happier, healthier, wealthier, more in control, freer? How would this impact your life and the decisions and choices you make? Feel those feelings as often as you can, and switch up your behaviours to match that version of yourself. These two actions are possibly the fastest way you’ll bring your vision into being and thrive. Aligning yourself emotionally with what you want in your life and career is the key to breathing life into your heart’s desire and unfolding the next chapter in your story .
