The time is NOW to access fully funded courses at The University of Sunderland!

North East Businesses are being encouraged to upskill their staff through a great programme driven by The University of Sunderland.

The aim of the North East Workforce Skills Programme is to collaborate with businesses across the North East to identify and develop skills gaps in the workforce.

By developing a suite of European Social Fund (ESF) fully funded courses, the University has a wide range of higher education programmes, fit for current industry demands which supports sustainable growth for the future!

The University of Sunderland are leading this project as well as offering a plethora of courses in a multitude of subject areas including:

  • Leadership
  • Education
  • Social Work
  • Workplace Psychology
  • Health and Clinical
  • Digital Skills
  • Engineering
  • Media
  • Investigative Practice

There is something for everyone, spanning across all sectors and available to any size business!

Through consultation with employers the University has created a suite of courses based on what businesses require to support business and staff development.

Some of the courses carry University credits so employees have the chance to use their learning towards further study. This programme is exciting and supports businesses in our region at a time when they need it most!

Tim Pain, Assistant Director responsible for North East Workforce Skills, explained:

“This is a major opportunity for employers to secure investment in the development of their staff”

The programme runs until September 2023, giving time for businesses to get involved.
