Human by Leighton unveils ‘Essential’ employee onboarding software
HR software company Human by Leighton has unveiled a new software as a service (SaaS) version of its employee onboarding platform aimed at helping small businesses digitise their onboarding processes.
Addressing the need for a cost-effective solution for small businesses, the SaaS version of Human comes at a critical time for hiring managers as ‘The Great Resignation’ and recruitment crisis rages on.
A study by Personio and Opinium predicts that over a third of employees are actively seeking new roles after emerging from the first lockdown and that a potential talent exodus could have a big impact on businesses’ finances with the cost of additional staff turnover and training over the next 12 months potentially costing the economy an estimated £16.958 billion – equating to £13,595 per small business – and a cost of up to £5.8 billion for SMEs alone.
CEO of Human by Leighton, James Bunting believes that now is the time to act to increase retention and improve employee onboarding by overhauling time-consuming processes and training that must be implemented manually which can be costly to a small business.
He said: “Over the last two years we’ve seen Human customers make significant improvements to their onboarding processes which has resulted in better employee experiences, reduced time to productivity and greater retention. Digitising the process has also saved our customers a significant amount of time and money.”
“Talent scarcity and high turnover are among the biggest challenges organisations will face in 2022, so it’s important to engage and retain employees from day one. A strong employee onboarding process can help you accomplish that, while also helping new hires become productive sooner.”
Established in 2019, Human by Leighton was developed to meet demand from a global retailer for a flexible, customisable onboarding software to reduce its recruitment and induction costs.
Following the success of the software, which resulted in cost-savings of over £6.5million per year for the retailer, the platform has been further developed and is available in three packages; Essentials, Professional and Enterprise, providing smaller business owners their own tailored, affordable version of the product to save time, reduce paperwork and improve compliance whilst reducing the overhead costs of onboarding, at a price point that suits them.
Mr Bunting continued: “Our Essentials package means that all organisations, regardless of size, can deliver a good, compliant, affordable onboarding experience, whether they’re engaging with one new starter or 1,000.”
