LifeWorks leveraging power of peer support with launch of LifeWorks Community
New service connects people online to reduce isolation and offer mental health support
United Kingdom, June 9, 2022 – LifeWorks, a world leader in providing in-person and digital solutions that support the mental health and total wellbeing of individuals, has launched LifeWorks Community worldwide – including in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and beyond. The program gives people access to a supportive peer network for emotional and wellbeing support.
According to the LifeWorks Mental Health Index™, isolation is a major indicator of negative mental health. LifeWorks Community allows employers to provide a peer-driven support community, creating a greater sense of belonging and acceptance at work. Establishing and maintaining a supportive community is known to improve mental health and reduce feelings of isolation.
Key features • LifeWorks Community connects people from various organizations and industries in 30 languages around the world for emotional support. • Using online posts, people anonymously give and receive support from one another while trained professionals monitor posts and escalate crisis situations. • LifeWorks Community users engage in forums on topics like relationships, anxiety, parenting and more. • Employers can add LifeWorks Community to their existing benefit plans to complement traditional clinical care support like employee assistance programs (EAP).
LifeWorks is offering a companion product for post-secondary institutions. My SSP Community is built on the same foundation as LifeWorks Community, with forums specifically designed to engage students.
Comments from Neil King, president, integrated health solutions and executive vice president, LifeWorks “We know one of the most powerful ways to improve mental health is by reducing isolation. With LifeWorks Community, people realize they are not alone and become part of a peer network where they can give and receive emotional support. LifeWorks Community reinforces growth achieved in EAP counselling sessions by adding a sense of belonging – the feeling that people aren’t alone with their mental health challenges – which can help people feel their best.”
