Menopause in the workplace course at the University of Sunderland

The Menopause in the workplace course at the University of Sunderland is fully funded for North East businesses by the European Social Fund (ESF) who are offering just under £15m worth of training to local businesses.

Sharon MacArthur aka ‘Miss Menopause’ runs this fantastic interactive workshop which aims to start the conversation surrounding menopause in the workplace. Sharon started this initiative after her own experience with menopause, and this session allows individuals to also share their experiences as well as ask questions. The aim of the course is to facilitate and encourage open discussion of menopause, as well as offering lots of helpful advice on how to navigate menopause in the workplace. The course can provide a better understanding of how menopause may be affecting the women in your business.

Did you know? - Less than 10% of businesses are currently discussing menopause in their workplace, but everyone will encounter menopause at some point whether that’s directly or indirectly. It may be you, or it could be a family member, a work colleague or a friend. Learn how to support them by attending this informal and friendly workshop at the University of Sunderland. This course isn’t just for women, it’s for everyone!

The course enables people to hear how menopause can affect all women differently, which allows them to consider possible work-based solutions for how they may start to support people within their own organisation who are going through or impacted by menopause. Start the conversation in your business by enrolling on to this brilliant course.

The course is two and a half hours long and fully funded by the ESF. This course is great for HR professionals, but it’s extremely accessible and therefore a fantastic opportunity to learn more for anyone at any level within an organisation across the North East.

There are still places available for this course on the following dates: 30th June, 14th July, 7th September, 13th September, 21st September and 29th September. We offer both morning and afternoon sessions.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch. For more information about any of our courses or to enrol now contact: esf@sunderland.ac.uk
