Ovenu Maidenhead supports town's beer festival
Oven valeting service Ovenu Maidenhead is demonstrating its support for the local community by sponsoring a beer and cider festival.
Maidenhead Beer and Cider Festival, which is organised by SWM Camra, is held this Friday and Saturday (July 8/9) at NMCC Sports Bar at Summerleaze Park, Maidenhead.
The festival is supporting a local charity, the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2022.
As well as being a sponsor, Ovenu Maidenhead, which is owned by Ryan Penniston, is also offering an oven clean as a prize in the raffle to raise money for the hospice.
Ryan said: “I am keen to support events in the Maidenhead area as well as getting to know people from the wider community.
“It is good to see the beer and cider festival making a return to the town’s social calendar after having to take a break since 2019 due to Covid restrictions.”
Allan Willoughby, of SWM Camra, which promotes real ale, real cider and real pubs in East Berks and South Bucks, said: “We are really excited to be able to stage a traditional annual festival after having to transfer it online during Covid.
“We are grateful to sponsors, such as Ovenu Maidenhead – it is due to their fantastic support that we are able to hold a such big two-day celebration of real ale and cider.”
As well as 50 cask ales and ten craft keg beers and a range of ‘real’ cider and perries, soft drinks, wine and prosecco will be available for visitors to the festival, which is forecast to attract at least 1,000 people.
There will be live music with the entertainment including the Dacoda band, the Maidenhead Concert band, and Elaine and The Bottle Kids.
There also will be a cheese and beer pairing and tasting session hosted by distinguished Beer Tutor and Master Trainer, Christine Cryne.
Ryan has amassed nearly a decade of experience safely dismantling, cleaning and reassembling ovens of all brands and types.
He uses Ovenu’s exclusive range of eco-friendly oven cleaning products to return cooking appliances back to near showroom condition.
As well as the town, Ovenu Maidenhead also covers Marlow, Taplow, Bray, Braywick, Cookham, Hurley, Woodlands Park, Furze Platt, Hitcham, Burchett’s Green, Touchen End, Fifield, Medmenham, Bourne End, and surrounding areas.
