Visual intelligence startup Spinview raises £5.5m pre-Series A funding to create an enterprise metaverse for the built environment

Spinview, the visual intelligence startup helping businesses capture, connect and communicate large volumes of disparate data and transform it into accurate, accessible and actionable information, has raised £5.5m in a pre-Series A funding round to further develop its enterprise metaverse solution for the built environment.

Spinview’s latest funding round takes its total investment to £8m since it was founded in 2015 to protect the future of organisations through combining visual simulations of their spaces with data-driven insight.

Among the investors are Alchemmy, a management consultancy specialising in delivering combining data and design to deliver sustainable change in industries such as transportation, as well as the Future Fund and a plethora of high net worth and angel investors.

Spinview will use the funding to further develop the intellectual property for its platform and the corresponding hardware for data capture as part of the process of creating 3D models, while also enhancing its customer success team to ensure success at every stage.

Spinview’s visual intelligence and supporting ecosystem (VQe) is the key to unlocking the value of data due to its ability to capture, connect and communicate large volumes of disparate data and transform it through visualisation techniques into accurate, accessible and actionable information. At the heart of this process is digital twin technology which enables businesses to create rich digital models of anything physical or logical, from simple assets or products to complex environments, from roads and rail to warehouses, factories and homes.

By combining data from a variety of sources to existing data systems, visualisation of data can reveal trends and illuminate factors that might otherwise have remained hidden, giving invaluable context to the data and enabling businesses to see what has previously been unseen or not understood. For the built environment, visual intelligence supports more informed planning and optimization, delivering efficiencies across all aspects of business operations and providing a holistic view of any space; from buildings where we live and work, to our critical infrastructure.

Founded in 2015 by ex-Consulting Director Linda Wade and entrepreneur Zoran Grahovac, today Spinview employs 28 people across five territories: the UK, Sweden, USA, Serbia and India with a global network of subcontractors and distributors. Organisations benefiting from Spinview’s VQe approach and supporting technologies include Transport for London, Norwegian Military, SKF, Global and JC Decaux.

Founder and CEO of Spinview, Linda Wade, said: “We are thrilled to have successfully closed this latest funding round with a great thanks to our investors. When thinking of data, people most often think of engineers, developers and IT teams using and manipulating that data with little to no input from the wider business, but people need to think beyond this limiting view. Using this important data to create a visual intelligence ecosystem that can be understood and accessed by every working individual is the key to untold improvements and will be beneficial game-changing for any organisation.

“Our tools put people at the heart of this process - from mapping a physical asset to a digital platform and using this data to analyse its efficiency, condition and status remotely, or measuring the way stakeholders respond to virtual environments. We aim to make our systems as accessible as possible to all parts of an organisation through further development of our award-winning technology this year and beyond.”
