Carlos Oliveira, CloudM

International cloud migration and management provider CloudM, has announced the appointment of Carlos Oliveira as Director of Product and Engineering. He will establish the company’s product vision for the next three to five years, ultimately deciding how the business will grow its current offering to meet the demands of an ever-growing and challenging market.

Oliveira boasts an impressive track record with more than 12 years’ experience in cloud computing, originally beginning his career in web development in Turin, Italy. Following a three year stint in Italy, Carlos moved back to the UK where he founded Shaping Cloud, a business that helps public sector bodies to achieve digital transformation using cloud technology.

In addition, Oliveira will also focus on raising awareness of CloudM’s management product to align it with the existing reputation of the migration software encouraging customer retention, and growing SaaS revenue by adding innovative modules.

On his appointment, Oliveira said: “The opportunity to grow and scale the business is massive. I see a huge amount of potential in CloudM’s software and I’m very excited to be a part of this journey. US growth and recent incorporation will be key as well as continuing to develop the product’s expansion into the Microsoft space.”

Managing Director, Gary Bennion, adds: “I am delighted that Carlos has joined us. After just a 30 minute phone conversation, we instantly started firing off ideas about the software and its potential. Carlos is a natural fit with a new perspective and incredibly inspiring ideas which we are very excited to bring to life.”

Jamie Dunning, Krispy Kreme

A former managing director and president at Mars Retail Group and sales director at Cadbury Schweppes, Jamie Dunning will take over from Richard Cheshire, who recently took the decision to step down from his role as Krispy Kreme’s UK & Ireland CEO after nearly twenty years of working in leadership roles at the Company.

The appointment comes at an exciting stage of Krispy Kreme’s journey in the UK and Ireland as the Company looks to maintain the strong growth it has seen in the past five years. Dunning will be responsible for building on the successful legacy that Cheshire leaves behind.

Josh Charlesworth, Global President & Chief Operating Officer, Krispy Kreme, commented: “We are delighted to have been able to appoint Jamie to head up Krispy Kreme in the UK & Ireland.”

Jamie said: “I could not be more pleased to be joining the team at Krispy Kreme. I love everything about the company, from its strongly held values and its ambitious plans for the UK, to its delicious products!

“I will focus on continuing Krispy Kreme’s signature Hub and Spoke model through expansions into online delivery, drive-throughs and bricks and mortar stores, but also cementing the relationship the company has with consumers as one of the countries’ most-loved sweet treat brands that sparks joy and enhances shared moments”.

Having entered the UK market in 2003, Krispy Kreme now operates 133 shops in the UK and Ireland and has a presence in over 1,500 other points of access thanks to partnerships with the likes of Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons.

Sally Thornhill, The Island Quarter

Experienced hospitality expert Sally Thornhill has joined The Island Quarter as general manager of the site’s two vibrant new venues, Binks Yard and Cleaver and Wake.

Joining the team with 23 years’ hospitality experience, Sally has worked at a number of restaurants and venues across Nottingham, including a stint as general manager of the fine dining restaurant Hart’s, and Hambleton Hall, where she was events and recruitment manager.

Sally commented: “Establishing and maintaining two vastly different restaurants such as Binks Yard and Cleaver and Wake will be a unique challenge but one I’m certainly looking forward to. Together with both teams, I’ll be working to refine the unique personalities of both venues, while helping to cement them as fantastic destinations for the people of Nottingham and beyond.”

John Whitehead added: “We’re really excited to welcome Sally to the growing Island Quarter team. She blew us away in her interviews with her extensive experience, knowledge of the industry, and passion for the role and project. I’ve been lucky enough over the years to experience her passion and expertise first hand.”
