This week’s round up of National appointments includes Light Science Technologies, Tier One Capital & Parklane Plowden. Read on to find out more.

Jessica Browne, Light Science Technologies

AgTech specialist Light Science Technologies (LST) has announced two new appointments to its team to continue advancing its strategy of growth.

New recruit Jessica Browne joins as Electronics Engineer, having previously worked as an engineer at various companies including GeoSLAM and Microlise. Her new position will see her take on an R&D function, where she will be responsible for the design of electronics for LST’s burgeoning grow lighting and sensor product portfolio, as well as having input into type approvals, software and firmware design.

James Swords also joins as new Project Manager, leveraging more than 15 years’ experience at large aerospace companies, starting off as a technical apprentice straight from school. In a newly created role at LST, among other responsibilities he will be tasked with overseeing new projects and implementing efficient processes to actively manage and communicate resource.

Simon Deacon, CEO and Founder of Light Science Technologies, said: “I believe Jessica has the experience and expertise to help lead our R&D function and execute on the company-wide vision for innovation and growth going forward. Her breadth of design engineering knowledge will play a key role in LST’s development of its lighting and sensor products for the Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) market.

“With his (James) track record in coordinating major projects and operations as a mechanical engineering manager, he is the person ideally equipped to step into this new role to support our clients across indoor farming with their project requirements and to streamline technical operations to ensure efficient delivery to the highest standard.”

Bianca Chibanda, Tier One Capital

Independent wealth management and fund management specialist Tier One Capital has grown its team further with the appointment of Bianca Chibanda.

As wealth management support, Bianca (pictured right) will work closely with Tier One Capital’s team of highly experienced financial advisers who deliver independent, personal and bespoke financial advice to the firm’s growing client base.

With experience in the wealth management sector, Bianca is the latest addition to Tier One Capital’s expanding team. The Newcastle based business is planning on further growth in coming months aiming to attract more experienced financial advisers and support staff.

Paul Blight, head of wealth management at Tier One Capital (pictured left), said: “Bianca is a great example of the talented people we are attracting to Tier One Capital with the intention of providing a tangible and rewarding career path.

“She is a welcome addition to the team and will play an important role working alongside our financial advisers in their support of our growing client base.”

Bianca added: “Tier One Capital has a strong reputation for its financial advice and client support, and I am very pleased to have the opportunity to join the team. I am keen to develop a career in financial services and look forward to progressing and gaining more experience with the business.”

Dominic Crossley, Parklane Plowden

Leeds and Newcastle-based Parklane Plowden Chambers has welcomed a new tenant to its 18-strong chancery and commercial team.

Dominic Crossley who was called to the Bar in 2006, specialises in all aspects of chancery and commercial law with a particular focus on real property and wills, probate and trusts. He joins Parklane Plowden from Leeds-based Enterprise Chambers, where he practiced for four years.

Dominic’s property practice covers disputes concerning adverse possession, easements, boundaries and covenants as well as those over co-ownership of land and claims involving proprietary estoppel.

Commenting on his new tenancy, Dominic said: “Parklane Plowden has an excellent reputation for being a chambers with a progressive approach which is aligned with a clear growth plan.” The set’s chancery and commercial team is highly regarded and outstanding at what they do. I am looking forward to helping further develop the practice for the benefit of our existing and future clients.“

Parklane Plowden’s chancery and commercial practice director, Stephen Render, said: “Dominic’s extensive experience across real property in particular will play a key role in further growing Parklane Plowden’s reputation for excellence on the North Eastern circuit and beyond.”
