This week’s round up of Yorkshire appointments includes Parklane Plowden, Eddisons & HubRx. Read on to find out more.

Dominic Crossley, Parklane Plowden

Leeds and Newcastle-based Parklane Plowden Chambers has welcomed a new tenant to its 18-strong chancery and commercial team.

Dominic Crossley who was called to the Bar in 2006, specialises in all aspects of chancery and commercial law with a particular focus on real property and wills, probate and trusts. He joins Parklane Plowden from Leeds-based Enterprise Chambers, where he practiced for four years.

Dominic’s property practice covers disputes concerning adverse possession, easements, boundaries and covenants as well as those over co-ownership of land and claims involving proprietary estoppel.

Commenting on his new tenancy, Dominic said: “Parklane Plowden has an excellent reputation for being a chambers with a progressive approach which is aligned with a clear growth plan.” The set’s chancery and commercial team is highly regarded and outstanding at what they do. I am looking forward to helping further develop the practice for the benefit of our existing and future clients.“

Parklane Plowden’s chancery and commercial practice director, Stephen Render, said: “Dominic’s extensive experience across real property in particular will play a key role in further growing Parklane Plowden’s reputation for excellence on the North Eastern circuit and beyond.”

Jack Hutchinson, Nick Verity, Rowan Manning & Catherine Chapman, Eddisons

Property group Eddisons has made new hires and a senior promotion in its Leeds valuation team following a record year of turnover growth for the division.

Jack Hutchinson, who joined the firm on Eddisons’ graduate programme in 2014, has been promoted to director. Jack has a widespread network across the Yorkshire professional services sector and strong expertise working for high street lenders and challenger banks in the region.

The valuation team has had its best year on record and has expanded with the arrival of chartered surveyor Nick Verity, who joined Eddisons last year. The team is also welcoming back Rowan Manning as a graduate surveyor. Rowan spent a year with Eddisons as a placement student in 2021 before completing his degree with first class honours from Nottingham Trent University.

Catherine Chapman has recently come on board as the latest placement student from Sheffield Hallam University. This marks the fifth consecutive year that Eddisons has run its placement programme with both Sheffield Hallam and Nottingham Trent universities.

Eddisons regional director Edward Hine, who heads the Leeds valuation team, said: “Our team has had an exceptional year following the pandemic and continues to go from strength to strength. We have enhanced our bank panel coverage and strengthened our existing client relationships.

Dr Sarah Passmore, HubRx

Leeds-based HubRx has appointed Dr Sarah Passmore as Superintendent Pharmacist ahead of the UK’s first state-of-the-art automated pharmacy hub for independent community pharmacists launching in Yorkshire.

Sarah joins the team with more than 20 years of pharmacy experience. Starting her career within community pharmacy, Sarah has held key regulatory roles with Rowlands Pharmacy over a 11-year tenure which also saw her involved in a number of pharmacy automation projects.

Commenting on her appointment, Dr Passmore said: “As a pharmacist, who has spent more than 10 years working within community pharmacy, I’m excited by what a hub and spoke model for dispensing can bring.

“I’m excited to join HubRx and for it to become the first state-of-the-art automated pharmacy hub designed for independent community pharmacists to launch in the UK.”

HubRx CEO, Daniel Lee adds: “We’re delighted to welcome Sarah to HubRx. Her experience as a community pharmacist, her background in pharmacy regulation and her knowledge of industry automation means she can combine a professional understanding of the challenges independent pharmacists face with first-hand experience of how technology.”
