This week’s round up of North East appointments includes Rowan Homes, Michelle Simpson HR Recruitment & Alncom. Read on to find out more.

Rob Hudson, Rowan Homes

Rowen Homes, a luxury homeware brand based in the North East have recruited ex-MADE.COM Head of Buying Rob Hudson, in an effort to prime for exponential growth.

Previously associated with brands such as MADE.com, BHS and Next Home, Rob will be bringing a wealth of industry experience, especially from his past 7 years at MADE.COM where he led the buying department, helping the company achieve £371m revenue in 2021. He hopes to build the same success with Rowen Homes.

Rob commented: “After 13 years within the Furniture Buying sector, I’m excited to be joining Rowen Homes who have been a real disruptor in their sector, achieving great success since launching 2 years ago.”

Alice said, “We’re thrilled to have Rob Hudson joining us to run the Buying team and help us source more amazing stock.”

Rob joins the business at an expansive time, as Rowen Homes are set to launch their crowdfunding campaign in the next month, to help raise £1.5 million to grow the business and invest into stock to strengthen their product availability. They have been recruiting angel investors for the first part of their campaign, with great success.

Rebecca Corrigan, Michelle Simpson HR Recruitment

Michelle Simpson HR Recruitment has expanded with the appointment of a new Consultant Rebecca Corrigan. Rebecca will oversee HR recruitment from entry to middle level HR appointments across all HR disciplines for North East based businesses.

The company specialises in supplying HR professionals to all business sectors and has been operating across the region for over 13 years.

Rebecca moved into recruitment a couple of years ago making a deliberate career change from international retail management to resourcing.

Managing director Michelle Simpson commented, “We are delighted to welcome Rebecca into our established team where she will assist us in growing the business and increasing our market share. We pride ourselves in offering a bespoke consultancy service which adds value to both the employers and candidates we represent. Rebecca is a great addition to the team, we are looking forward to what the future will bring”

Having been a People Manager previously I am passionate about how HR teams can add value within a business and I’m looking forward to supporting our clients in their search for HR talent.”

Ian Finlay, Alncom

Ian Finlay, 40 will be responsible for the sales team at rural broadband experts Alncom, working closely with Head of Community and Stakeholder Engagement John Parker to increase the FTTP (fibre to the premises) customer base in the North East and Scottish Borders.

Ian Finlay said; “Alncom have one of the highest customer service plans I have ever encountered and coupled with their tremendous team spirit and experience, I leapt at the chance to work with them”.

With an HQ in Alnwick Northumberland, Alncom are a rural ISP (internet service provider) with focus on the NE covering an area from County Durham right up to Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.

The company are keen to work closely with every community they build in. Community Engagement Officer John Parker said; “our company policy is to create free “digital hubs” in village halls and churches where possible, with the aim to support and bring communities back together where we build FTTP (fibre to the premises), particularly after the covid effect left many people feeling isolated and cut off”.

Alncom’s managing director Stephen Pinchen said; “our aim is to deliver a first class experience for the customer and the community as a whole. It’s not just about sign ups, it’s about genuinely caring for the communities we work and live within. This approach works well and customers are generally delighted.”
