This week’s round up of National appointments includes Anderson Strathern, Glencar & West Midlands Gigafactory. Read on to find out more.

Gary Burton and Robbie Wilson, Anderson Strathern

Anderson Strathern, one of Scotland’s most innovative, independent law firms, has bolstered its leadership team with the promotion of two new partners and six new directors. New partners Gary Burton and Robbie Wilson are leading specialists in the firm’s Healthcare, Public and Regulatory team.

Gary is recognised for his expertise in personal injury actions and heads the firm’s Catastrophic Personal Injury Unit. He is accredited as a specialist by the Law Society of Scotland in Regulation of Professional Conduct Law and appears in high profile regulatory cases in the areas of teaching, nursing and social care.

Robbie leads Anderson Strathern’s top ranked Medical Negligence Unit, which has a multi-million-pound caseload across some of the most complex medical negligence cases in Scotland, including birth injury, misdiagnosis and fatal claims.

He is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in medical negligence and also sits on the panel that approves the medical negligence accreditations of other lawyers. Robbie is individually ranked by two leading legal directories - one of a handful of lawyers in Scotland with such credentials.

Mark Green, Glencar

Glencar, a leading UK construction company that was recently ranked amongst Europe’s fastest growing businesses has today announced that it has hired Mark Green into the role of Operations Director. Mark will be based at Glencar’s expanding Midlands office based in Solihull, Birmingham.

Mark joins from Construction Services Company ISG after more than 21 years with the business. He initially started out at ISG Pearce as Operations Manager and more latterly held the position of Divisional Operations Director based in Bristol, where he was also Account Lead for Tesco.

In his role at ISG Mark oversaw leading programs of work along with large individual projects on the Tesco retail account together with several large multi-million Amazon distribution schemes.

Speaking about the announcement Glencar CEO Eddie McGillycuddy said: “We are delighted to welcome Mark into the business who brings significant experience and expertise which will strengthen our Midlands office significantly.”

Talking about his appointment Operations Director Mark Green said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have this opportunity with Glencar and very happy to be joining during a time of such rapid growth and regional expansion with many exciting projects under construction across the Midlands and in the pipeline.

Richard Moore, West Midlands Gigafactory

West Midlands Gigafactory joint venture has appointed battery industry technology expert Richard Moore to spearhead its strategy and global contact with leading cell manufacturers. This key appointment will support the investment into and development of what will become the UK’s largest Gigafactory.

As we move towards an increasingly electrified world, Gigafactories are strategically critical to the UK’s automotive and domestic energy sectors, job creation, future economic growth and achieving Net Zero targets making the West Midlands Gigafactory an imperative for the UK’s electrified future.

Richard Moore is a highly experienced global automotive battery expert with more than 20 years of experience in the industry. He was previously a board member and Executive Engineering Director of Lotus, where he led the engineering of all sports cars, including the Evija electric hypercar.
