This week’s round up of Yorkshire appointments includes Radar Healthcare, Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Axiologik. Read on to find out more.

Professor Gillian Leng, Radar Healthcare

Leeds-based quality and compliance software experts Radar Healthcare has appointed the former chief executive officer of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), Professor Gillian Leng CBE to its board of non-executive directors.

Gillian was appointed as NICE’s CEO in April 2020 following a 13- year tenure as deputy chief executive for the organisation. At the helm during the pandemic, Gillian oversaw development of the Covid-19 guidelines. She was instrumental in the creation of NICE’s five-year strategy and set out updated methods and processes to put NICE at the forefront of evaluating new medicines, devices and diagnostics.

Commenting on her new role with Radar Healthcare Gillian said: “I’m excited to be working with Radar Healthcare to support its growth with key healthcare strategies.”

Paul Johnson, CEO for Radar Healthcare said: “We’re delighted to welcome Professor Gillian Leng to the team. Her unique perspective and experience, along with a vision we both share about the role of technology and its ability to provide healthcare insights to deliver better patient outcomes, will play a key role in our continued success.”

Louisa Harrison-Walker, Sheffield Chamber of Commerce

Sheffield Chamber of Commerce has announced its new permanent Chief Executive as Louisa Harrison-Walker. Louisa has led the organisation in an interim capacity for the past 24 months with joint interim executive director Alexis Krachai, who returns to a non-executive director role.

“As joint interim directors, our aim has been to create solid foundations on which to work collaboratively with our members, anchor institutions and stakeholders in the region,” said Louisa. “We know we are stronger when we come together. It is this spirit of collaboration and community that I’d like to foster further.”

“I’d like to put on record my thanks to my job share Alexis. With a significant business to run himself, we’ve been lucky to have him involved much longer than the original six months we both planned. Thankfully he will still be on the board and in the Presidential cycle so he’s not escaping just yet!”

Karen Mosley, Sheffield chamber president, added: “Louisa brings over 20 years’ experience and knowledge of working with organisations across our city. She is a truly passionate advocate for Sheffield and an inspirational leader.”

Louisa, a mum of two, plays an active role in the Sheffield community serving as both a trustee and non-executive director at South Yorkshire Housing Association; St Luke’s Hospice; Higher Education Partnership (with Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Sheffield); Common Purpose UK; and Made in Sheffield.

Speaking of the new role, Richard said: “I’m really looking forward to being more than my job description. This means being able to contribute in a variety of ways, such as mentoring, volunteering, shaping our service offerings and practices and developing propositions.”

Changing sectors from retail banking to consulting is Louise Sewell, a delivery manager who formerly helped to implement front office trading systems. Now at Axiologik, Louise joins the team as a Senior Delivery Manager to support the ongoing COVID 19 response and NHS Digital Vaccines Programme.

Most recently he held senior Product Management posts at online businesses, SaleCyle and Victoria Plum.
