Georgios Gionis, Fly Now Pay Later

Fly Now Pay Later, the leading travel provider that allows customers to spread the cost of their travel expenditures over monthly instalments, today announces the appointment of Georgios Gionis as chief product officer.

Georgios was previously director of product management for American Express and brings over 15 years of experience across product management, research and development within fintech and financial services.

Jasper Dykes, CEO and founder of Fly Now Pay Later, commented: “Georgios has joined the Fly Now Pay Later team at a crucial point of our journey.

“With experience across R&D and product management he will help grow this arm of the business as we look to expand our product offering with our trusted partners to make paying for travel even more flexible for everyone.”

Georgios began his career teaching entrepreneurship and researching Information Technology before moving to more hands-on product management roles at OpenBet, Barclays and most recently American Express.

With a particular focus on building and developing agile product teams and creating digital products that can scale easily across several markets and jurisdictions, Georgios will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to Fly Now Pay Later’s product division.

Open banking platform Tink has made four strategic hires to bolster its expanding London based payments team. Firstly, Andrew Boyajian joins Tink as head of variable recurring payments (VRP), to “turbocharge” the next phase of Tink’s VRP developments.

Previously, Andrew led product commercialisation of emerging payments and fintechs for Wholesale Payments at J.P. Morgan in the US. Andrew spent five years as head of banking, North America for Wise and also served as Director of International and Payments for Kickstarter.

Ian Morrin is the new VP of payment sales at Tink, leading and building the business development team with a mission to put Pay by Bank at the top of the checkout. Prior to joining Tink, Ian has spent the last 10 years as a sales director at a wide range of companies including Bud, Expedite Growth, Phoenix51 and Clarify.

Kevin Ward has been appointed VP Strategic Account Management, to lead account development and partnerships for Tink’s Payments and Platform customers. Kevin joins from Klarna, where he had numerous roles, including Sales Director and Global Partnerships Director responsible for PSP, Platform and the System Integrator network.

Before Klarna, Kevin led sales and account development teams at Close Brothers and Barclaycard. Reece Shannon-Sinclair joins as head of delivery and solutions architecture.

Reece is responsible for ensuring customers integrate seamlessly to Tink’s platform, delivering the full value of Tink’s products and services. Previously, Reece worked at Worldpay where he spent over nine years in various positions including senior director of enterprise partner solutions and senior manager in strategy and sales.

Jonathan Thornton, Evelyn Partners

Wealth management and professional services group Evelyn Partners has announced the appointment of Jonathan Thornton as a transaction services partner.

The transaction services team, led by Mark Benka, advises private equity firms, corporate clients, banks and family offices, providing financial due diligence and sale and purchase agreement (SPA) advice on transactions and also reporting accountant and assist services (led by Neil Cook) in connection with IPOs and other capital markets transactions.

Jonathan joins Evelyn Partners from Quantuma where he focussed on providing financial due diligence to lower to mid-market private equity firms. Prior to that Jonathan was a partner at PwC focussing on providing financial due diligence to larger private equity firms and family offices.

Mark Benka, head of transaction services at Evelyn Partners, commented: “I am delighted that Jonathan is joining us, bringing his breadth of experience and track record. It is an exciting time for our Transaction Services business as we are continuing to see our share of the market increase.

Jonathan added: “I am excited to be joining Evelyn Partners, particularly given the ambition the Transaction Services team has to continue growing in the coming years. A key factor in me deciding to join Evelyn Partners was the sense of energy and dynamism.

“I am excited to be working with Mark again, who I worked with previously at PwC I am looking forward to this next chapter of my career, providing excellent service to our clients, developing and expanding our team and market share.”
