This week’s London appointments: Featuring Lloyds Bank, Future and Confluent
This week’s round up of London appointments includes Lloyds Bank, Future plc and Confluent Inc. Read on to find out more.
Eleanor Cox, Lloyds Bank
Lloyds Bank has strengthened its support for the construction sector with the appointment of a new sector head to its commercial banking division.
Eleanor Cox has been appointed SME Head of Construction in London, where she will lead the team’s support for construction businesses, focusing on those with a revenue between £3m and £25m.
In the new role Eleanor will lead a team of relationship directors and managers to provide construction businesses with advice and tailored products that will help firms more effectively achieve their growth ambitions.
Eleanor commented: “The construction industry continues to face significant challenges, including rising inflation, supply chain disruption, and skills shortages, and signs are that these will persist in 2023.
“Managing these issues while capitalising on opportunities for growth will be a balancing act for the sector. Tools such as asset finance, which allow companies to unlock capital tied up in equipment can be useful here, and free up working capital for investment back into the business.
“Also, with the super deduction tax in place until March 31 2023, now is a good time for firms to invest in new equipment so that they can claim 130 per cent capital allowances on qualifying plant and machinery investments.
“Our team has a combined construction sector expertise of more than 20 years and we’ll be using this expertise to be by the side of construction firms.”
Kevin Addley, Future plc
Future plc, the global platform for specialist media, is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Addley as senior vice president of games, entertainment, technology and sport.
Kevin, who will be joining Future in March 2023, is currently the UK country manager at Audible, where he has been since 2012, and in his role he has overseen significant growth in the UK business.
Prior to his current role at Audible, he was VP Marketing and International Operations, responsible for all aspects of revenue growth for the UK business as well as supporting Audible’s expansion across the globe.
He joined Audible from parent company Amazon, where he was responsible for its primary traffic-driving channels and prior to this he held a number of marketing and business development roles for leading digital organisations.
Zillah Byng-Thorne, CEO of Future, commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Kevin as SVP of GETS. Kevin brings a wealth of experience and will help us continue to grow our GETS vertical and deliver the Group’s strategy.”
Kevin added: “I’m thrilled to be joining Future. The heritage and quality of the titles that Future publishes, coupled with the clarity of vision and purpose of the Group, is delivering impressive results and there is huge potential for us to drive further growth.”
Richard Jones, Confluent
Confluent, Inc., the data streaming platform to “set data in motion”, has announced the appointment of Richard Jones as vice president of enterprise sales, Northern EMEA.
Richard brings 17 years of experience in leadership and regional sales roles at fast-growth technology companies across EMEA. He will use this to spearhead Confluent’s growth in Northern EMEA, with a focus on empowering his team to strengthen relationships with customers and ensure they are maximising opportunities for leveraging data in motion.
Jones joins Confluent from Oracle, where he was vice president of sales for utilities in EMEA. Prior to that, Richard held the role of head of global sales for Astute Solutions, a SaaS software provider in the Customer Experience market. Under his leadership, revenues more than tripled, leading to a successful sale of the business.
Richard Timperlake, senior vice president of EMEA, Confluent, commented: “Richard brings a huge amount of experience to the business, including deep knowledge of SaaS, a focus on customer love, and a clear vision for developing our people.
“He will make an exceptional addition to the team at a time when data streaming has never been more important to today’s infrastructures.”
Richard Jones added: “I’m delighted to be joining the EMEA team at an incredibly exciting time in Confluent’s hyper-growth trajectory, as more and more organisations recognise data streaming to be a business-critical asset.
“I’ll be working closely with a really talented team to build on their transformative work with companies thus far, with a view to ensuring each and every one of our customers thrive in this new data streaming era.”
