Lynsey Furley, The Deep

A Yorkshire-based law firm which specialises in clinical negligence has added to its team with the recruitment of Legal 500 recognised solicitor, Lynsey Furley.

Having spent more than a decade supporting clients through clinical negligence claims, Lynsey takes the lead at Medical Solicitors’ Hull office which opened at The Deep Business Centre in September 2021.

Medical Solicitors Limited, which is based in Sheffield, was launched by Caroline Moore over 13 years ago and also has an office in York. Initially Caroline worked as a sole practitioner but owing to the success of Medical Solicitors it has now expanded to a team of nearly 30.

Lynsey said: “When I heard Medical Solicitors were opening an office in my local city of Hull, I was keen to join a firm that solely focuses on clinical negligence. I’m thrilled to be joining a great team and to continue to do what I am most passionate about – supporting my clients to obtain answers and compensation that will enable them to move on with their lives.”

Eve Molloy, Liam Hayward, Liam Colgan & Danny Oliver, The Bigger Boat

Integrated agency The Bigger Boat (TBB) has announced the appointment of four new recruits as it strives to nurture creative talent and serve its ever-expanding client roster. Aiming to offer a career journey that will see crewmates grow and develop alongside the company, the business has recently recruited its first graphic design intern Eve Molloy.

Meanwhile, digital marketing executive, and previous University of Huddersfield graduate Liam Hayward, will bolster the team’s capabilities specialising in paid advertising, search engine optimisation, and conversion rate optimisation. Aiming to build upon his skills within the digital arena, Liam will be mentored by senior colleagues within the business with a view to progressing into a paid media manager role.

As a former project manager and PRINCE2 practitioner, account manager Liam Colgan will be a key contact for clients organising and distributing workload to ensure timely outcomes for clients.

With significant experience in the music and hospitality industries, senior account manager Danny Oliver brings a strong digital skillset. Responsible for ensuring clients achieve strategic and operational goals, Danny will drive activity while bringing added value especially in his areas of specialism, which include marketing and management. His ambition is to become TBB’s next account director.

Leadership in the city has grown and changed further afield too, as Kate Josephs sits as chief executive at Sheffield City Council, Victoria Brown continues in her role as South Yorkshire Chair of the Institute of Directors and recently, Dame Julie Kenny DBE DL was installed as The Master Cutler for 2022 – 2023 - only the second woman to be installed in almost 400 years.
