Tim Reid, UK Export Finance

Tim Reid has been appointed CEO of UK Export Finance (UKEF), the UK government’s export credit agency, taking up the role on January 1. Tim was previously UKEF’s director of business Group and joined UKEF from HSBC in 2022 , where he held senior positions around the world, focusing on connecting businesses with international opportunities.

At HSBC, his most recent role was Global Head of Transaction Banking within the bank’s Global Banking division. Previously he managed businesses across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and North Africa.

Secretary of State for International Trade, Kemi Badenoch, commented: “I’m pleased to welcome Tim to his new role as CEO of UKEF. Tim brings a wealth of experience and has a proven track record for helping businesses expand internationally.

“I look forward to working with him to deliver the government’s export strategy, helping businesses to grow, create jobs, and deliver the best of British innovation and quality around the world.”

Tim added: “It’s an honour to be appointed CEO of UK Export Finance. UKEF plays a vital role in helping UK businesses open the doors to international trade and removing barriers to exporting through access to government-backed trade finance and insurance.

Annie Coleridge, Simplyhealth

Health solutions provider, Simplyhealth, has today announced the appointment of Annie Coleridge as product director of its corporate business. Annie will join Simplyhealth on January 9, reporting to Katie Wadey, chief product and commercial officer.

In this newly created role, Annie will be accountable for the P&L of the Corporate business where Simplyhealth’s products are offered via many corporates and SMEs to millions of employees.

Annie brings a wealth of experience, particularly in the field of Femtech and diagnostics. Having started her career in recruitment, Annie held healthcare leadership roles at Thriva Health, a subscription blood testing service, and the gynaecological health company, Daye - a business in which Simplyhealth is a key investor.

Annie joins Simplyhealth after selling Alva, the digital menopause company that she founded, to Vira Health last year.

Katie Wadey, chief product and commercial officer said: “We are on a very exciting journey to transform Simplyhealth into a product-led healthcare solutions provider. With her experience working around and with the NHS, Annie will be a real asset to Simplyhealth as we strive to help more and more people access the healthcare they need.

Annie added:: “I have a passion for women’s health, mental health and preventative care – all these elements align perfectly with Simplyhealth’s purpose of improving access to healthcare for all. My priorities will be to work with the team to drive business performance so that we deliver the best possible outcomes for our corporate partners.”

Nigel Pearce, Coolbrook

Coolbrook, a transformational technology and engineering company, has today announced the appointment of Nigel Pearce to the position of head of manufacturing and supply chain.

Pearce previously worked at Rolls-Royce where he held a number of positions in his 33-year career at the company, most recently head of manufacturing engineering, and he joins Coolbrook with “extensive” knowledge and experience in the development of gas turbine technology.

At Coolbrook, Pearce will lead the company’s manufacturing team, overseeing the planning, coordination, and performance of its processes. He will also be responsible for developing new and existing relationships with suppliers and optimising the procurement of materials and technology needed for Coolbrook to meet its production timeline.

As an engineer who joined Rolls-Royce at the start of his career, Pearce will be an “inspirational figure” for his team and the wider company. He is renowned for his global leadership roles in manufacturing process development, digital manufacturing, and series production.

Pearce said: “I am very excited to join a forward looking, technology-based company that is determined to make a massive impact on decarbonisation, an objective that resonates with my own values.

“My manufacturing skills and knowledge will help to drive the aggressive timeline that Coolbrook has set itself to bring that impact into reality with efficient processes and products.”
