This week’s Yorkshire appointments: Featuring Quickline Communications, Taylor Emmet and SPG Resourcing

This week’s round up of Yorkshire appointments includes Taylor Emmet, SPG Resourcing and Quickline Communications. Read on to find out more.

Charlotte Higgins, Taylor Emmet

Taylor Emmet has boosted its senior team in Sheffield with the appointment of Charlotte Higgins as corporate partner. Charlotte has moved to Taylor Emmet from her previous corporate law role at a Sheffield firm.

With 13 years’ experience in the sector, she has worked across all aspects of corporate, commercial and privacy law at firms in Sheffield and Derbyshire. Charlotte, who is also a highly successful track cyclist, will be working with Taylor Emmet Partner Rob Moore to continue the development of the firm’s Corporate department.

Charlotte commented: “I’m delighted to be joining Taylor Emmet. There is clearly an ambition for growth within the Corporate department and across the firm, so I’m keen to get involved in that and bring my experience to help us develop our Corporate offering.

“The enthusiasm and support from the team has been brilliant so far and I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running in 2023.”

Rob Moore, corporate partner at Taylor Emmet, added: “Charlotte’s appointment comes at an exciting time of growth for the firm, and we couldn’t be more pleased to welcome her to the Corporate team.

“I will be working closely with Charlotte in her new role and I’m looking forward to calling on her experience and expertise as we develop the Corporate arm of Taylor Emmet during 2023. We’re thrilled that she has come on board and are very much looking forward to what she can bring to the firm.”

Katie Menzies, SPG Resourcing

SPG Resourcing is supporting its growth plans with the appointment of Katie Menzies as client delivery director.

Katie brings a wealth of experience to the role and was most recently a client engagement manager at the IT recruitment firm Corecom Consulting. She also held positions in the US tech company Oracle. She is responsible for managing and developing key accounts and helping clients benefit from the wider services within the Solutions Performance Group.

Katie commented: “SPG Resourcing brings something different to the industry, and it’s exciting to join the team during a rapid growth period. The expertise and rigour they bring to the recruitment process help them secure the best candidates in a highly competitive market.”

SPG Resourcing is a technology talent advisory business with offices in both Leeds and Newcastle. It provides interim and permanent technology resources to a wide range of businesses, from insurance and financial services to health, housing and large FTSE businesses.

Sam Hameed, co-founder and managing director of SPG Resourcing, added: “Katie is a great addition to the team, and she will help us accelerate our growth plans. She has a rounded experience in the technology market and understands the pressures companies face when driving technological change.”

Craig Fairey, Quickline Communications

Rural broadband provider Quickline Communications has appointed Craig Fairey as chief financial officer (CFO) to support the continuing growth of the business.

Craig brings “significant experience and skills” to the role with the fast-growing company, having qualified as a chartered accountant over 25 years ago and held senior financial positions across different industries, including the tech sector.

He has joined Quickline from retail services provider Sigma, where he was Group CFO for four years. Craig’s arrival is the latest key leadership appointment by Quickline as it invests in its workforce which has almost tripled from 60 to more than 175 over the past year.

He commented: “I’m very excited to be joining Quickline and about the journey the company is on. The ambition and intent of the business is remarkable and the team that Sean has built around him is absolutely first class.

“In my first few weeks I’ve been struck by the passion and energy of the people in the business. Everyone is pulling in the same direction to leave an amazing legacy that will have such a positive impact on the lives of many thousands of rural households and businesses.

“Having grown up in North Yorkshire, and now living in East Yorkshire, it’s fantastic for me to be playing my part in improving the lives of people in Yorkshire and across the North of England.”

CEO Sean Royce added: “I’m delighted to welcome Craig to Quickline as the newest member of our executive leadership team. He brings a wealth of experience and a wide-ranging skill set to the role, which will be important to our ongoing development and growth plans.”
