Molly Foster, Building Design Northern Ltd

An industry placement is helping a Sunderland teenager to build a career in architecture, gaining industry insight with a leading northern practice.

Building Design Northern Ltd, BDN, has welcomed Newcastle College student, Molly Foster, on a 6-week placement, to enhance her studies through industry experience. 17-year-old Molly, who lives in Sunderland, is studying a Level 3 B-TEC Extended Diploma in Interior Design and Architecture.

Molly, who is looking to pursue architecture at university in September, said “I really enjoyed my time at BDN, everyone was really welcoming, allowing me an insight into a professional working environment. I was able to see how a practice operates, which has inspired me to continue to study architecture at university, with my end goal to design residential properties.”

Ryan Doyle, operations director at BDN, said: “It has been a pleasure to welcome Molly to BDN for an industry placement. Molly expressed high ambitions throughout her placement, impressing the team with her detailed designs and eagerness to learn. “Molly was focused on building a career in architecture, and with her exceptional attitude and determination, we believe she will go far in the industry.”

Oliver Eagle, ROAR Digital Marketing

Oliver, a young and ambitious individual, has joined ROAR Digital Marketing as a degree apprentice through the Northumbria University Apprenticeship program.

As a degree apprentice, Oliver will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the digital marketing industry while completing his Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing. He will work closely with the ROAR team, learning the latest techniques and strategies while also making meaningful contributions to the company’s projects.

ROAR is a leading digital marketing agency based in Newcastle Upon Tyne that is committed to providing opportunities for young professionals to develop their skills.

Oliver said: “To work alongside the highly skilled and experienced team at ROAR, while simultaneously getting my degree at Northumbria University is a fantastic opportunity that I’m very thankful for.”

Claire Fenwick, Samuel Phillips Law

Newcastle Law Firm Samuel Phillips Law has appointed Claire Fenwick to the role of group marketing manager to spearhead its growth in the region.

In her new role, she will lead Samuel Phillips Law’s overall marketing strategy and build on the company’s position in the market to help drive strategic growth.

Claire’s appointment comes at a period of rapid change at Samuel Phillips Law. Last Summer, the firm was acquired by lawyer Sufe Miah, Founder and Director of Miah Solicitors in Leeds. Miah also acquired Hathaways The Law Firm which has offices in Gateshead and Low Fell.

Claire’s role will see her leading the strategic marketing for all three firms, managing external and internal communications including advertising, PR, print and online marketing collateral and business development as well as raising the firm’s profiles through events, networking opportunities and sponsorship.

Claire said: “I am looking forward to the challenges my new role will bring and working hard to exceed our goals alongside the fantastically talented teams at all three firms. Although, I will be based at Samuel Phillip’s office on Newcastle’s Grey Street, I will also be spending a significant amount of time in our offices in Gateshead, Low Fell and Leeds”
