Paul Tootell, Lupton Fawcett LLP

Yorkshire law firm Lupton Fawcett LLP has appointed a head of IT as part of a wider investment in technology to support its growth.

Paul Tootell is responsible for developing and executing Lupton Fawcett’s IT strategy. He brings over 25 years’ of IT management experience to the newly-created role, gained across sectors including professional services, retail and logistics.

Managing partner James Richardson commented: “Paul’s appointment is part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring our people have the tools, technology and working environment they need to meet the needs of our clients, not just today but well into the future.

“Paul’s expertise across IT strategy, cybersecurity and infrastructure and operations management will further enhance our ability to provide a first-class service to clients and I am delighted to welcome him to the team.”

Kada Research, Dr Laura Lane

Kada Research, an economic research consultancy based in South Yorkshire has expanded its management team with the appointment of associate director Dr Laura Lane. Bringing almost 19 years of experience in learning and skills, social mobility and strategy, Laura has held a number of leadership roles across private, public and academic settings.

Before joining Kada Research, Laura worked for the Department of Education, where she led national post-16 and professional and technical education policy developments. She has a decade of higher education (HE) experience with a Doctorate of Education in social mobility and access to HE.

She has delivered a wide range of national policy agendas, programmes and projects, including post-16 qualifications (UK, European and international), professional and technical education, access to higher education (HE), inclusion and diversity, regeneration and skills, and strategic school improvement.

Karl Dalgleish, director at Kada Research, commented: “We are delighted to onboard Laura to the board. Her exceptional talent in the education sector will be a significant asset within the team and for clients. Laura’s dedication to the field demonstrates her passion for education and skills development.”

Rachel Gardner and Nick Hill, Prohibition PR

Prohibition PR continues to expand its team of communication specialists with the announcement of two new senior appointments following a year of significant growth.

A specialist in the FMCG sector, Rachel Gardner has been appointed as account director having previously held the same position at Finn Communications where she led on multiple communication campaigns for household retail brands such as Asda, Jammie Dodgers, Cushelle and Finsbury Food Group.

With more than seven years of PR experience, Rachel will lead on delivering B2B and B2C PR strategies for Prohibition PR’s Food and Drink Division clients such as Primula, Fentimans and Sponge, as well as a growing list of new business wins, including Yorkshire Water.

Alongside Rachel’s appointment, Prohibition also welcomed Nick Hill who takes the role of junior account manager, also joining from Finn. With a background in business journalism, Nick previously held editorial positions at Bdaily and TheBusinessDesk.com.

As a B2B communications specialist, Nick will support Prohibition in expanding its B2B offering, and deliver creative and strategic content for various channels, including social media support and advertising, media relations and digital PR.
