In a tough economy it is much harder to run and sustain a viable business. Many of us fall out of love with our businesses. This can cause many business owners to feel drained and start looking to exit. Their business no longer excites them. When you are in survival mode you are not coming from a place of planning and the future. There are ways that you can help yourself fall back in love with your business. So how do you structure your business in a difficult economic landscape.

Ask yourself what your life and business vision look like. What do you want to accomplish in life and in business? This will help you to understand why you are doing what your are doing. Then work out how to create that vision and bring it to life. Your vision needs to be something that will empower you for a lifetime. Your business has to power your life. Ask yourself what you want in your life with regards finance, health, relationships and self-care. Next think about the pieces that have to happen in the short term to get you to your long term goals.

To avoid work burnout dial down into your business as a first step. It is useful to write down what you are doing in your business and what is working. Then write down what you like doing and what you want to do. Who are the clients that you like serving? Who are the clients that you really love to serve? Burnout is not just about how much work you are actually doing. It can come from the clients that you are working with. If you are serving people and showing up for people that you do not like working with, they will suck the life out of you. Write out the qualities of the people you like working with. How did you find them? Where did they come from? What sort of person are they?

Structuring your business is key in difficult times. Look at structuring yourself in terms of lifestyle. How many hours do you want to work? How much time do you want to spend in your business? Then bring back the notes from who you like working with, what you enjoy doing in your business and what you want your lifestyle to look like? Structure your business around that. Go back to scratch to find out what your business offers and make sure it aligns with the notes. That way you will attract the right people into your business and avoid burnout.

Address your money mindset. Make sure that you are priced for profitability. Are you pricing your offers in a way that will help you reach the lifestyle goals that you have? 90% of entrepreneurs undercharge their services. This makes it hard for you to get to the lifestyle that you want to have. You have to sell based on on volume instead of selling based on value. There are still people out there spending money. There are still successful businesses that are seeing growth. Address your money mindset. You have to believe that the money is available before you go and look for it.

Mentally reboot and start focusing on loving your business again. you love again. Do not let an unstable financial landscape wear you down. Look for the opportunities and understand that your business may need a restructure.
