This week’s round up of national appointments includes Mediaworks, Redrow Midlands and Gateley Legal. Read on to find out more…

(L - R): Andrew Blenkinsop and Dr David Norris, Mediaworks

Mediaworks, one of the UK’s largest independent digital marketing agencies, has promoted two of its long-standing directors to senior positions.

Andrew Blenkinsop has been promoted from the group’s strategy director to chief strategy officer, taking a place on the organisation’s executive board. At the same time Dr David Norris moves from performance marketing director to group operations director.

Andrew, who has been with Mediaworks for seven years, will lead strategic implementation across the group, working closely with group marketing director, Chris Coulson and newly appointed commercial operations director, Rosie Hebblethwaite.

Meanwhile, Dr Norris, who arrived at Mediaworks three years ago from his position as associate dean at Teesside University’ Business School, will now spearhead the quality delivery of Mediaworks’ digital marketing services across SEO, performance marketing, paid media, content and digital PR.

Brett Jacobson, founder and group CEO at Mediaworks, commented: “Both Andrew and David have consistently proven themselves as outstanding leaders in the business.

“Their new positions reflect the esteem I hold for them personally but also reflect their immeasurable contributions in transforming us into one of the largest and best performing independent agencies in the UK.”

Paul Shaw, Redrow Midlands

Redrow Midlands, based in Tamworth, has appointed Paul Shaw, who lives in Sutton Coldfield, as regional director, bringing over 30 years of industry experience to the role. Paul started his journey in construction as a trainee estimator, gaining practical, hands-on experience and working his way up the ladder over a 33-year-long career.

His new role will see him take responsibility for coordinating divisional directors and heads of departments, as well as communicating a clear message to all at Redrow Midlands of the housebuilder’s visions and intentions for the future.

Paul commented: “I worked with the Midlands team for five years before moving to Redrow South Midlands, so I’m really looking forward to working with some familiar faces again, as well as meeting new members of the team and seeing how the division has changed over the last few years.

“I’m excited to be continuing my career at Redrow. I’m incredibly proud of the homes we build and the care and quality which goes into each one. A huge reason I was attracted to working in the property industry in the first place was the diversity of building different properties for a wide range of people. Each day is different, which keeps things exciting!”

Paul joined Redrow Midlands in 2011 as commercial manager, and transferred to the South Midlands division as commercial director in 2016. He was responsible for the quantity surveying and buying teams, overseeing and supporting with integral stages of the building process.

Specialist residential development team, Gateley Legal

Gateley Legal has expanded its Manchester based specialist residential development team to a total of nine to service the North West property market.

The team is headed up by partner Louise Ilhan, who joined in 2018 to lead Gateley Legal’s Manchester residential development offering. Louise is supported by legal directors, Leanne Murray and Nick Molloy, who joined to make up the senior team.

All three bring a wealth of experience to the team having each worked as in-house legal counsel within the housebuilding industry. The senior team is supported by associate Rebecca Nichols and solicitor Mohammed Bux.

Gateley Legal’s national residential development team is assisted by in-house complementary consultancy businesses, Gateley Hamer, Gateley Vinden and Gateley Smithers Purslow.

The consultancies offer a number of specialist services to the property and construction industries which differentiates Gateley from its competitors and increases the range of issues the legal and professional services company can advise on.

Louise commented: “Our Manchester specialist residential development team has gone from strength to strength since 2018. All three of the senior team members have in-house legal counsel experience which means we have an enhanced understanding of what support our clients need.

“This, alongside our complementary consultancy businesses, allows us to offer a unique full-service property solution in-house. When coupled with the team’s expertise, this offering has quickly led to us becoming the go-to residential development team nationally, as well as across the North West.”
